The check in and check out process is automated with machines inside a little building. There is a porta potty right next to it. There were 3 parking spots for trucks but it wasn't lit up very well and I had trouble seeing the lines of the spots when parking at night. All communication from the office is via text.
There was a dock right there that trucks were coming and going to but for some reason they had me go around to the back of the building and get loaded in a spot by myself. It could have been to get me out faster or the product of course but it felt weird.
There was some time before a worker came out and I could open the doors and get to the dock but I was loaded very quickly. Before I made it back to the front I received the text that my paperwork was ready. Not a bad experience and plenty of room at the docks but they could use more lighting.
When checking in they asked where I wanted the weight of the load and I put the front and middle. When at the scale it was in the middle and back. I don't know if that was a misunderstanding of "front" or they ignored their...
Read moreCheck in at shipping office Lamb Weston. Kiosk check in only. Make sure to bring your phone and driver's license at check in, they'll make you scan your ID and punch in your phone # to get a text for a door. If you're delivering empty pallets, you'll have to call the number that's on the wall, because the Kiosk won't let you check in, and you'll pretty much be a work in. So make sure the broker you're working with is willing to pay you detention. Overall experience was not very good, over 3hrs waiting and the number on the wall that I called to try to check-in, since Kiosk would not let me. The tone in their voice didn't seem very happy that I dialed the number, saying "that's not where you're supposed to be", but that's the only place that has a sign that says shipping and...
Read moreGenerally speaking. These guys aren't the worst. However- the young lady in the shipping office is a snot. Called to simply check to see where I was in the que- (it had been nearly 10 hrs since I last spoke to them, since a previous customer made me late to my appt). She proceeded to instantly get agitated at me (for breathing maybe?) And lit into me about all their struggles to keep up on the dock and hit me with a maybe if you'd been on time line.
Mind you? All I had asked was where we were in line. One simple question.
Now, knowing the vindictive nature of people willing to talk to truck drivers like this? I'm gonna prolly need to cancel tomorrow's loads and focus on sitting another day.
Unprofessional shipping office. Great...
