Took our daughter there to ice skate for the first time on Sunday December 31st, New Years eve. Ice was in really bad shape!! So many ruts and bumps. Not smooth at all and it was hard to keep balance. I heard other parents complaining as well. We got there at 430pm so this was after they ran the ice machine, so shpuld have been smoother. Getting food was difficult as well. Nothing was made and when I asked for a slice of pizza they said well I could put in another pizza if you really want me too. This was for everything including the icy machines. Everything was out except for maybe one or two flavors and when I asked if they were going to refill them she told me not tonight. Now this was 5:30 p.m. and they didn't close till 9:00 p.m.. and it was kind of busy there. There was a good amount of people over on the skating side and also on the extreme Air side. There were a lot of people and kids trying to come out and get food. I don't understand why they weren't willing to have food prepped and make things? I don't know if we'll be back honestly. Between the ice being so rough and not being able to get a snack for our daughter while we were there. We Might have to see if there's a better option out there for next time. The staff was very nice though I will say that. And the skates were in...
Read moreI remember going here a few times when this place was called the Ice Zone and it was brand new, back when I was in high school. Back then there were two ice rinks.
Now my visits are to take my son to his weekly Little Penguins hockey practice.
The facility overall is showing it's age and that's to be expected after years of people running into everything with skates on and hockey sticks flying. There's a nice enclosed heated upstairs area for folks who can't stand the cold. However the last time I looked the restrooms upstairs were closed, probably due to lack of use.
The downstairs bleachers area is pretty cold from a spectator's standpoint, also kind of cramped but again that's to be expected.
Can't really speak for the snack bar or skate rental or anything to do with the arcade or trampoline park (which occupies the space of the former...
Read moreAs i play in an over 50 hockey league I go to the rink for stick time.well, the powers that be have decided to end the stick time sessions. Reason being they say not enough guys using the ice to hone their skills. But the rink was still open and employees were inside. Wouldn't it be better to gain some income than none at all? Why be open at 10AM if there is no one to come and use the rink? Yes, there is a trampoline side but if that is open to the public then the ice side should be also.....makes no sense. Looks like ill have to find somewhere else...
