Although writing a testimonial and supportive review is not something I often do, there are a handful of special moments in one's life when you encounter a service, product or company that thoroughly exceeds your expectations. So very much so, and in every capacity, that you feel as though you'd be remiss if you didn't share your wonderful experience with the world. THIS is one of those times!

I am a REAL CUSTOMER and this is my unsolicited story. I respectfully encourage you to read on.

After conducting a fair amount of Due Diligence and reading the reviews about reputable Jewelers -- just as you're probably doing right now -- I can honestly say that I couldn't be more pleased with the expert guidance, creativity and fair-priced service that I received at David Stern Jewelers.

My first encounter with David Stern was by telephone, and within just a couple of minutes or so, after I had explained the nature of my multiple inquiries, I was convinced that my search efforts had paid off and that I'd truly found the right guy! I made an appointment to visit with David that afternoon and was later greeted by David at the door. His outright friendliness was candidly warm, personable and very down-to-earth. This put me at ease right away and we went into his office for a personal consultation.

I explained that subsequent to my Mom's recent passing, my brother and I had inherited her fairly extensive collection of all kinds of jewelry … it included a mixture of diamond pieces, white & yellow gold bracelets, necklaces, rings, pins -- both Vintage and Current -- along with many pieces of costume jewelry. This entire collection would, at a later date, be fully evaluated, assessed and render a proposed cash offer.

Among other things, I first wanted to repurpose the diamonds from two of my Mother's rings to create a one-of-a-kind Engagement Ring for my very deserving Fiancée. Like a couple of old friends working together, I described to David what I was looking for and, on very short order, David came up with a basic sketch rendering. It incorporated several sentimental stones from both of my Mom's rings ... David's creative vision for this finely crafted piece was amazing!

Truthfully, ten days later when I picked up the finished ring, I was blown away by its exquisite and gleaming design … so was everyone else, especially my Fiancée … when I proposed!! It was a custom creation from the ground-up that only someone with David Stern's talent could precisely fabricate.

Since the purchase of that beautiful ring, I've been back to see David several times. Each time, he insists on cleaning and polishing whatever pieces of jewelry I/we happen to have (routinely Free-of-Charge) and we're always greeted like "Family". Our most recent appointment was a three-hour Cost-Free consultation to appraise and assess our Mother's entire collection of jewelry. We selected a few pieces that we wanted to keep in the family, and then decided to accept David's generously-fair Cash-Offer for the remaining pieces.

I can honestly say that when it comes to Jewelry, you won't find a nicer, more-qualified, pleasant, genuine, knowledgeable, trustworthy, considerate and fair-minded person than David Stern. You simply cannot go wrong with a guy like this and I can't think of a single reason to shop for jewelry anywhere else!

I really hate leaving 1-star reviews—especially as someone who also runs a small business myself and knows how important Google reviews are. But I feel compelled to share my experience with David Stern Jewelers because it was honestly upsetting and disappointing from start to finish.

I visited the store on Saturday, May 31st, after reading the positive reviews online. I brought in a very sentimental piece: my grandmother’s ring, which I recently inherited. I wanted it cleaned, resized, and checked to make sure the setting was still secure. During the consultation, David told me it needed to go up two sizes and that they would need to remove the diamond in order to do it properly, which I understood. I was quoted $149, which I didn’t mind, and I agreed to pay once the work was done. He said it would take no longer than two weeks and told me to call him on Tuesday for an update.

When I called on Tuesday around 3:25 p.m., David seemed annoyed and was surprisingly rude. He didn’t even remember the ring size we had agreed on and admitted that he hadn’t written it down. I reminded him what he told me—and I remember clearly because the ring is very important to me emotionally. He then told me it would be ready in an hour.

Since I work about an hour away, my boyfriend offered to pick it up for me. He went to the shop, picked up the ring, and paid for it. While he was there, he also asked about his grandfather’s gold chain, which we were told had flaws and needed repair. Instead of properly inspecting the chain, David just threw it around my boyfriend’s neck and literally told him to pull on it—until the chain broke right there in the store. He then “repaired” it and claimed there was never anything wrong with it to begin with.

While fixing the chain, David started saying extremely inappropriate and derogatory things about women. My boyfriend was so uncomfortable that he actually thought to himself, “Dude, do you hate women?”. That says a lot about the kind of conversation that was happening.

After hearing all this, I decided to take both the ring and the chain to another jeweler for a second opinion. It turns out the ring was resized incorrectly—it was a size and a half too big. And nearly every link in my boyfriend’s chain was damaged, making the repair much more costly than it should have been. The integrity of the chain was completely compromised.

All in all, this was a really disheartening experience. I had hoped to support a local business and trusted them with something that holds deep sentimental value to me. Instead, I left feeling disappointed, frustrated, and honestly a bit disrespected. I wouldn’t feel comfortable recommending this...

If you're like me and have a lot of questions before even going to a Jeweler, let me just say that David Stern is very nice, patient and answered all of my questions over the telephone, which made me feel very comfortable. When you walk in, you automatically feel welcome and comfortable. I have four pieces of sentimental jewelry. Two pieces are my late mother's old-fashioned beautiful jewelry, my engagement ring I received from my husband 17 years ago. and a diamond pendent from my late mother-in-law. I needed to get a new appraisal done for insurance purposes. I called numerous jewelry stores to find the right jeweler that was both GIA Certified and reasonably priced. I called at least 12 or more jewelers from Fort Lauderdale to West Palm Beach, FL. David Stern was the most reasonable, professional and personable. We set an appointment to have it done and he took his time to look at my jewelry, write the appraisal and take beautiful pictures of each piece of jewelry. His certified appraisal was professionally written. While I was in his store, I looked at a few pieces of jewelry and I was surprised to see the beautiful and good quality in design in the jewelry that he sells.. David is also very informative and he made some good recommendations to me about insurance companies that I was unaware of. I have a few pieces of jewelry that I want to have fixed and upgraded and I will be bringing my jewelry to only David Stern because of the time and quality he puts into his design and...
