I'm the GM of a small gym in johnson city tn and upon entering i was greeted by nice front desk ladies and a young man. I asked to speak to the manager/owner. Thye both followed out to greet me. I asked them if we could possibly do a business deal with supplements...we're small so nothing lucrative as they are huge. I asked for guidance on how they do things on a variety of levels. They called out a guy who does the machine maintenance. All three spent the next two hours teaching me some tricks of the trade on how to fully set up machines to last, what brands are best and their general philosophy. They didn't have to do this as they are very busy. The gym I run is called The Bullpit and we are the gym in Johnson city..not to brag, but we wanted to learn. They literally rolled out the red carpet, let me and my new wife lift for free, free merchandise, and offered supplements. I was humbled and only took the minimum out of respect as I wanted it all. The gym isn't spotless nor should it be. To create a culture that pushes you to get uncomfortable some things shouldn't be so clean and perfect...the best performers are bred from raw, intense environments. They are hard, rough men who call it fair and straight. They deal fair. Sure, once I a while I'm sure a good member slips through the cracks and that sucks. Running a gym is tough, especially one that good. When I go on vacation in a few months my first and only stop will be there. Just wanted to say thank you to all the men and women who are born on the iron..it's s different mindset and one person's tough love or gruffness can come off as indifference but its actually a sign they care too much. Badass gym that everyone should visit at least once in their life...again big thanks to Aaron, Cassandra Steve, for showing me, my wife, and The Bulpit...
Read moreI tried this gym with my brother and friend yesterday since we recently moved to the area from out of state and are looking for a new gym. I was seriously considering joining because Iâve heard great things about it. When we walked in through the side door, an employee named Leo immediately spoke to us very disrespectfully. He said we couldnât enter through that door and that there was a sign saying not to use it, and he told us not to do it again. He kept repeating, âI know you guys didnât know, but thereâs a sign on that door, so donât do it again,â as if we were children.
The two girls at the front desk looked embarrassed by the way he spoke to us and mentioned that the door is supposed to be locked. If thatâs the case, they should lock it so people donât walk through it by mistake. The door even looks like an entrance and has their logo on it.
The worst part was that when we left the gym, there was no sign on that door at all. Iâm certain of this because I always read signs like that. I have no issue with someone politely explaining a rule, but the way he spoke to us was completely inappropriate and showed a lack of basic customer service. He didnât even greet us before raising his voice.
Our group was really taken aback by this experience, and because of Leoâs behavior, we are no longer...
Read moreFirst of all I want to say how thankful I am for this gym. Before I got a membership here I use to go to Planet Fitness, but is nothing compared to Redcon1. When I first went in the gym I felt like a kid in the candy store. I also am very thankful for the staff team. Everyone is very friendly, outgoing, and always looking out for the best of the gym. One problem I noticed later on was that people did not know how to re-rack the weights. There is also been some rumors lately about how Shannon who recently joined the team; how he is a tuff guy, but he is just looking out for the gym, just like any other staff does. As you get to meet the staff team you find out that everyone is cool. Remember you got a mirror of the energy tou want to receive back from someone. The better the environment the better of a workout you can have. Overall this gym is very amazing and I would recommend to someone who wants to improve physically, mentally, and spiritually. VIP membership too,...
