After being referred to HL Sims from a neighbor of mine, I had an afternoon visit with Kathy F. as I was looking at a Quartz countertop solution for a temporary fix until I could get my dream of soapstone countertops in the 113 year old house I am living in.
Kathy was very patient and although could have made a high dollar sale to suit my needs, explained they didn't work on commissions and then she logically helped me select a fantastic laminate that looked just like soapstone for less than 1/2 the cost of the Quartz that I was going to purchase. This not only saved money for something that would only be in for 1 to 2 years, but also allowed me to get used to the look of soapstone so I would know what the ultimate appearance would be.
HL Sims representative that came out to measure my existing countertops was extremely professional and his expertise allowed a perfect measurement, even in an old house that is not exactly plumb square. One week later I was being called to schedule having the counters installed. On installation day within just a few hours, the professional installers had the old ones out (after removing appliances) and everything finished, gleaming and clean.
I cannot express adequately express my joy and gratitude for HL Sims and the team that I have worked with. They most definitely will be my choice and recommendation from here on out when it comes to...
   Read moreTerrible company and especially their customer service! My edging has issues with it on several areas of counters. Warranty barely past 12 months. This company does nothing, they are rude about it.After they get your money, they donât care about you. I had to get Home Depot involved to get anything done. It took two and a half months after I first called sims. Lori is the worst. Oh my, why is she answering the phones. Well I should say when she feels like answering. She is rude , condensing, knows nothing, then when you explain your situation and call back for a follow up on a repair ( by the way ,Home Depot took care of it, $$. NOT Sims) she will not answer the phone because she knows you have a concern and will quiz her, other words, you expect her to be able to help, rightâŚ.. I called several times left a VM just to have her, Lori text me, saying call Brent the owner. All I needed was an appointment, after Home Depot said they will take care of me .She ignored my âmany â calls. I called from another number and she answered!!! But there again she was useless rude, talks over you.I wish I had never used this âsmallâ company. The owner Brent says he will talk to Lori ( wrong)âŚ. Well, it does no good. My advice, beware, after you pay for an install , you are not priority and they are not great , at all with edging, period! Big hassle with...

Writing this review for my mom, The seams were cut in the wrong place and the workers couldn't figure out how to install them so there boss told them the lay it in a 4x4 and bolt it together, after doing so they find out it is to long and tried to cut it down in the backyard causing it to warp and not be squared off. When trying to put it back in they chipped the corner, she told them to leave because by this point it was late and have the management call in the morning by 11am no call, my mom call and was talked down to and yelled at, was told they would call her back in the afternoon, 30 min before closing time no call and my mom called back a asked to talk to the owner was put on the phone with the owners son , as he yelled and berated my mom, she just told them to refund the money. After lookin for another company and not finding one my mom call back and tried to make it work and Kathy once again talked down and said that she wouldn't even wont to give the money back but all the office workers said they should try and work it out, by that point my mom told them to refund her and she will do with out.
