I have been working out with FFC for over four years. It has been fantastic for me, and I highly recommend it. I primarily do personal training sessions, which is customized strength training. I am in my 50’s, and part of my challenge was to unlearn incorrect form, and I learned that some exercises that were standard thirty years ago are actually not so good for you. Florida Fitness Coaches has provided me challenging workouts that have been injury free.
When I first joined, Mara ran me through a series of tests and exercises to establish my current situation. It is surprising how muscle imbalances develop over decades of sitting at a desk and computer! Or maybe not so surprising. I had a rotator cuff problem, and Mara designed programs to help target that and other imbalances. My shoulder has been pain free and at full strength and range of motion for a long time, now.
I primarily work out with Mara, and occasionally with Chris. They are both the right blend of drill sergeant and motivator, which helps when the alarm goes off early in the morning to go to FFC. They tailor each program to the person and change them up every four to six weeks. That keeps the program fresh, and exercises different muscle groups.

   Read moreHello, I started with FFC 1.5 years ago after relocating to Bonita Springs from Massachusetts. What began my PT career was a diagnosis of osteopenia from bone scan- I was totally surprised as I have been a regular exerciser for over 30 years- 3-4 x week. But my daughter who is a personal trainer pointed out that I was not strength training. She started to train me and my repeat bone scan showed improvement in both areas ( spine and hip). So I was sold. My daughter helped my to find FFC as she liked what she saw on the profile so I joined- I attend 2 x week unless I travel out of town ( which is rarely). I find the strength training challenging and rewarding- helps me to feel young and to act younger. I play pickle ball 6 days a week, and feel the strength training definitely improves my game. I will continue to strength train to keep myself healthy and strong. Also I am doing my daughter a favor as she does not want to take care of me when I am an "old" lady- LOL. I find the trainers at FFC very knowledgable and friendly- definitely like a family atmosphere. I enjoy exercising with the same folks on Tues/Thursdays- I consider myself a lifer! Thank you...
   Read moreJust over 5 weeks ago a friend posted a review of Florida Fitness Coaches and their upcoming weight loss/fitness challenge. Although I’ve had good experiences with gyms and fitness in the past, recently I had become lax with both my workouts and my diet. So my friends review caught my eye at just the right time and I jumped on the opportunity. The coaches at FFC couldn’t be more supportive, the classes are small and the workouts are individualized to each participant. The nutritional information and weight loss part of the challenge was easy to follow with a specific diet plan and recipes for delicious and appropriate meals.
I am pleased to say that I am now 35 days into my challenge with 2 days before I leave on an extended vacation. I have surpassed my weight loss goal and am feeling healthy and fit.
