Hemenway Harbor Launch Ramp — Local services in Boulder City

I normally like to launch out of Hemenway Harbor, but unfortunately the water was so low that the launch site was reduced to Two vehicles. People with jet skis were having difficulty not getting their vehicle stuck because the boat ramp ran out of concrete to launch. Ultimately, I decided to leave and launch elsewhere instead of risking my vessel and vehicle.

Hopefully something will be done that will allow Nevada to hold back a little water instead of keeping Lake Havasu at 98% capacity while leaving Lake Mead and Lake Powell (in Utah) at 38% capacity or less. Yes, these are real numbers. The government blames it on a 20 year drought, but make no mistake, the reason lake mead and lake Powell are nearly empty is because of a lawsuit over the water distribution, nothing more. The Hemingway Harbor launch ramp is currently a mess. Because of the extremely low water levels, the marina has been moved further out once again and the launch ramp had to be moved. So for the time being, boats launching from Hemingway are forced to do so in a single file fashion, one boat in and out at a time. Also there is a large graded metal plate that appears to be to help trucks with traction in the mud but it falls way short of its intended purpose. Several trucks weren't able to get any grip and couldn't pull their boats out. Luckily there are always other boaters willing to lend a helping hand and jump in the back and help push them out. As of today, there is one lane and a sketchy launch. There is a mat down but lots of loose dirt. 2wd tires were spinning without my jet ski on the trailer for weight but made it out. On water 7am Sunday and not a line. Was chill till 9am when I got out of the water and the line went from 1 to 6 in a blink. Mood changed quick. The lake is just sad due to low water. Thanks to all helping to keep access to the water as that must be a tough task. Boulder Beach launch was our nice peaceful spot and now Hemenway is just not at all the same.
