We have visited Silver Dollar City since my now adult children were teenagers. Now when visiting from Texas we bring our seven year old. One of our favorite rides was the original Fire in Hole. It also quickly became a favorite of his as well. Ever since he was able to ride it, it was always on the must ride with every visit. Did it need work? Sure. But thatâs what we loved about it. It gave you that nostalgic feeling. Maybe thatâs just me though. But when we heard it was going to be closed, we were saddened to hear the news. So we made sure to get one more visit in to ride it one last time. Then just a little while later, we heard that they were going to re-open it. But this time it was going to be brand new. Of course I was skeptical at first. I think we all now how things end up being we they are âre-imaginedâ. But we decided to give it ago. We bought our season passes ( which we always do) and made the drive up. What are going to ride first? I asked my son. Without hesitation he belts out âFIRE IN THE HOLEâ!!! So we headed over there as quick as we could. It was early so there wasnât much of a line. We get on the ride and weâre off. You could tell right away of the updates. But I did like that they seemed to incorporate some of the old characters and animatronics. Well it seemed that way to me. But it was smooth and awesome. I was pleasantly surprised. We went back four more days. But we only got to ride it once. The lines were SOOOOO long. So long that a lot of it was in the direct sun. So we will wait until next time. Long story short ( too late), we loved it and recommend it to fans of the original...
Read moreWe like the old fire in the hole better. Our biggest complaint is that this fire in the hole does NOT have a worker out front keeping people from cutting in line! I lost count for 2 days on how many people actual cut in line & the was already VERY long. SOMEONE NEEDS TO STOP THIS NONSENSE! If we go again & a worker isn't out front to stop this like the old fire in the hole, I will take it upon myself to tell someone they better not cut in front of us. This could easily escalate as I know we're not the only ones that were upset but I will speak up for others as well. We left a couple of times due to this. PLEASE FIX THIS, especially for what we pay yearly for fun...
Read moreThis is a great dark ride! Although it is very new, it still feels like a classic attraction. I never did the old version, but comparing it to Blazing Fury at Dollywood, it really isn't that much different. They really improved with the new version though as the sets are much better lit up and the audio in each room is clear. I also like the onboard audio, it enhances the experience that much. Just a fair warning, you might get wet on this ride if you sit in the front row. The ride ends with a splashdown! This is a must ride. Make sure you get there early to avoid the long lines this ride always...
