Extra Space Storage — Local services in Bridgewater Township

Nicole was such a blessing to me on a VERY stressful and difficult day!! I moved my storage from Totowa, NJ which is almost 50 miles away. I had way more stuff than I thought and ended up needing a 20 foot truck. I'm usually a good driver, but something was wrong with the truck (I discovered only after I left). The battery light kept coming on, the key wouldn't come out of the ignition easily, and the tires were very WORN. This wouldn't have been a problem years ago, but the roads post-Covid are bananas. As I approached the exit for 287 South off 80 West an 18 wheeler started tailgating me and blowing his horn. I had to stop in the off ramp zone where the lines are drawn. He barreled past me fully loaded. He had to have been driving 70-80 mph. I was so scared I was just shaking. Thank God he didn't hit me!! By the time I made it to Extra Space Storage in Bridgewater I was a mess!! I came into the office and Nicole greeted me so kindly. She knew my name (I guess my online reservation) and we immediately started chatting like we'd known each other for years. I found out she went to high school in Maryland and I lived there for 3 years. She offered me a glass of water and while I typically would have been my strong, independent self I was SHOOK by how close I came to a really bad accident and I accepted. We had such a great conversation about a host of issues the greatest of which was healing and forgiveness. Our chat included an A and B part because I decided I needed a moment to chill and I also needed help. I went to the mall and called my son to help me unload. When I returned I told Nicole I would probably need a bigger unit. She transferred me into a larger outdoor unit, and she continued her kindness and patience. By the time I left we'd shared so much with each other. She told me to not be a stranger (which I won't) and offered to pray for my son. Thank you so much Nicole for your kindness!!! Update: Do not rent a storage unit here unless you want to deal with price increases every 4 month and be burdened by getting a U-haul to move your belongings out. This location is avaricious and violating the contract of not notifying customers 30 days in advance of a rental increase. We found out 6 days before the unit is due, by an email reminder to pay the rent. Which showed an increase of $81.00! This is a huge amount to not inform us about. This property has our mailing address, email, and phone number. There is no excuse for why the employees were irresponsible to inform us of the price increase in a timely manner. To be sneaky by not informing us of the increase hoping we are in desperate need of a unit and will pay any price is unethical.

Multiple customers are complaining that Extra Space lure people in with low rates advertised on online and after 4 months it's a huge increase. Do not allow yourself to be fooled by this dirty practice. It's better to stay away and rent from an honest company that charges fair rates. We're not sticking around to see in 4 months the rental increase now being $100. Obviously it's going to be higher than the current increase of $81.00.

FYI, in the state of NJ it's illegal to not give notice when raising prices on storage units. Employees have to make every attempt until the customer is aware.This property knew we were blindsided with this increase and didn't care. Keep this unprofessional behavior up, someone will take legal action against this Extra...

We've had an excellent experience with Extra Space Storage! I needed a unit on short notice and when I called the manager answered the phone. She was very nice and extremely helpful. I told her our situation and she assured me that they had a unit available. The topping on the cake? They also had a moving truck that we could use to move in.....FOR FREE! I had been looking all afternoon at the ridiculous rental rates for local moves and was so relieved that I hadn't booked a truck before calling Extra Space. Everyone has been extremely nice, but I have to say that Frank has gone out of his way to make sure that everything went smoothly for us. He called when our initial reservation was getting ready to expire to make sure that we still needed our unit and then made sure that everything was up to date and ready for us. Our stuff has stayed clean and dry through a very humid and stormy first month of Summer. The grounds are always clean and there is always a cart at the doorway when we go to drop additional boxes off, which makes things so much easier! I'd definitely recommend this facility to...
