Customer service at this location is always lackluster, but I felt compelled to leave this review today after I witnessed an employee respond to a customer's question with, "I don't know ask one of them." as she pointed to a back room behind the meat department. "I don't work in this department." The customer in question was missing an arm, had troubles with mobility, and had a young child who was probably his granddaughter with him.
This is probably not a one-off event. Rather it is representative of a systemic problem that ultimately starts with the store manager. I have been shopping at this location every week for over a year. Employees seem afraid to make eye contact with you. They won't stop what they're doing to ask if you need help finding anything. I try to bring my cart back in after loading my groceries, and try to grab an extra or two to bring back into the store, and I've never been given a thank you by employees standing up front.
My guess would be employees are reprimanded for not completing assigned tasks even when given the reasonable excuse of helping customers, and so customer service takes a major hit because they have been taught to not prioritize it.

Read moreI have shopped at this store since it opened. I have spoken to the manager on duty each time I have shopped about the location of the black hand carry baskets. For some reason, the manager does not distribute these carriers on both sides. Most shoppers start shopping on the right side of the store for the vegetables but the managers will not instruct the baggers or cart retrievers to split the carriers. I think it is rude and shows little regard for customer service. I visit Foodlions all over the state because of my business. This is the only one that I've found does not consider this an inconvenience for the customers. I will shop at one on hwy 87, Cameron from now on. The Young blonde lady has always been the manger that I have reported this issue to in the past but she was not there...
Read moreFor the first time in months, I finally was able to purchase French fries. However, at the self checkout, I range an item twice accidentally. Opps. However, when I tried to flag anyone that worked in the store, for literally 5 minutes, there was no one at all. The self service across from me had 3 people finish their purchases. The full service lane in front of the self checkout served 5 people. I finally called the store and asked if ANYONE could assist the crazy customer waving his hands in the air at self checkout. My arms are tired. The auto answer operator did tell me that customer service is their number 1 priority. I did not feel that way in any way, shape, or form. 2 stars is because they finally had French fries for the first...
