Edit: pretty much had bid good riddance to Brownsville Toyota. This is an update as of 08-13-2025. I continued to have the same issue with the message, "cooling performance of the battery is low," even though I mentioned it several times during maintenance visits, but unfortunately, I only have it documented once. I told the service cashier specifically what to check, as I had to do my own research, obviously since the problem had not been rectified after ALL these years. They assured me that they had and wrote it on my receipt but interestingly enough they did not mark it off even though it is on the multipoint inspection paper! They didn't mark it off because they didn't check it. I know because I took it upon my self to check the battery intake filter. It was completely covered with a blanket of dust and debris. I removed the layer and gently dusted it off. Since I removed that layer from the filter I have not gotten that message. I even took a trip to Waco and back. This is the first time in 6 years that I have not had that message pop up. Brownsville Toyota never fixed my vehicle. Tried to make me think I was crazy. Lied to me. Tried to use fear tactics. This was all such a big big mess for something that could've been easily remedied with a flathead screwdriver. Not to mention that having the air intake filter blocked can shorten the life of the hybrid battery. Are they responsible for the loss of my first battery? Has my new $5000 battery been negatively affected? Edit: (this is previous to the above post when I thought for a few days that my vehicle was "fixed" but was not) I am changing my review from 1 star to 3 stars as Brownsville Toyota seems to have finally fixed what may have been causing my vehicle maintenance warnings and issues. I am still waiting to receive the paperwork as to their most recent work of replacing the 12v battery. Edit: I received my paperwork. Today is 01/08/2024, and my vehicle has not displayed the warning, "cooling performance...." since it has been last serviced. That is definitely a relief.
