La Guera Micheladas — Restaurant in Brownsville

Extramly rude older lady !!! I asked for some modifications for my michelada and asked about my options and she seemed extremely annoyed. I spoke to her in Spanish because that's what she was speaking but when she started talking to me like I was an idiot who didn't understand, I asked her if she spoke English so I could explain better since I thought maybe she wasn't understanding my Spanish and what I was asking. She was super condescending and said in Spanish "Yeah I speak Spanish, English, and French!" This lady must be mad at the world or extremely unhappy with her life if she's treating people that way. I explained to her that I wasn't familiar with her menu since I had only been there ones more than a year ago but she did not seem to care and continued with her awful attitude. I googled her business and saw that the latest 2 reviews were negative and also commented on the awful customer service. I'm not the only one who has experience the worst customer service from this older lady (the owner). I hope she finds the happiness that she needs in life and maybe then she will stop...

After reading the other reviews, the same vibe comes thru. Good food , but rude service. I stopped by with my sister and brother in law after a tiring day .They are in their sixties , thin and grey/white hair. (Elderly). The owner came out to the patio to complain to my sister because she got her can of opened sprite from the car. I saw no sign saying no outside drinks allowed, even so my sister apologized and offered to throw the drink away. The “bruja” as she referred to herself because she said that’s what people make her out to be when she confronts them. She simply does not know how to accept an apology . She kept berating my sweet sister even when I told her she already answered her question that she would not take a drink in any other restaurant and apologized for bringing one into her restaurant. I do that all the time and most allow it or don’t come and offend you as you are trying to eat the meal you just bought. My sister did not deserve her rudeness. I kept my cool and we left never to return to this place again. I told my family and friends to avoid this place...

We recently went to this place for their Mexican-style shrimp cocktail and ceviche. However, this review is not about the food... it's about restaurant cleanliness. When you walk in, you'll instantly notice a makeshift living room on your left where the owners hang out during downtime. The thing is it is completely desheveled and messy with dishes and all. Then you look at the food prep area and there are stacks of supplies (floor to ceiling). There are utensils and dishes scattered about and it just feels very hoard-ish. I'm not easily grossed out, but I honestly couldn't eat the food thinking about the unkemptness of the area. If they do not keep up with the cleanliness where customers are, I can't even imagine what the back kitchen looks like or the condition food storage happens in [insert vomiting...
