Rainbow Point is one of two viewpoints, along with Yovimpa Point, that make up the southern end of the the popular Scenic Drive (Highway 63) in the Bryce Canyon National Park. It is located 17 miles south of the Visitor Centre.

Note: For those taking the scenic drive, it is recommended go straight through to Rainbow Point and to start making your viewpoint stops from there as you drive back north along Highway 63. This way you can simply pull over to the right for the numerous viewpoints which are all located on the east side of the road facing Bryce Canyon.

We were luckily to see quite a bit of snow on the ground at Rainbow Point during our recent visit. At Rainbow Point, you can see much of Bryce Canyon to the north as well as some impressive cliff structures in the distance. There are some nice hoodoo structures when looking left (north) from Rainbow Point, although not as many nor as close as what you will see at viewpoints further north along the Scenic Drive.

Note: From Rainbow Point, you can walk 3-4 minutes to Yovimpa Point for nice views south towards the Grand Staircase-Escalante Monument in the distance. The two viewpoints share the same parking and can conveniently seen together in 10-20 minutes before...

My wife and I spent a week in and around Bryce and Zions National Parks and thoroughly enjoyed our time. We were limited on hiking because of a recent medical issue I had had, but I felt I was able to see a vast majority of the parks' scenery. We ave been to many of the National Parks and these were certainly unique and a great time. Zions was extremely busy but Bryce was much better and the crowds not overwhelming. We had come in the first week in June so we were not surprised by the number of people. The tour busses discourage hundreds at each stop so...

I was going to give it a lower rating, because the views on the pull offs on the way up are better in my opinion. However, im a little biased because I've traveled a lot of places and this is a tourist family friendly and easy place to get too. In that sense i do recommend seeing it.

For people who have seen a lot, your going to walk to the edge go cool and walk back to the car.

Its currently november 27/2020 and its crowded. I can only imagine what it would be like in...
