Yovimpa Point along with Rainbow Point, is one of two nice viewpoints situated at the southern end of the Scenic Drive (Highway 63). It is 17 miles south of the Visitor Centre located just as you enter Bryce Canyon National Park.

Note: For those taking the scenic drive, it is recommended go straight through to Yovimpa and Rainbow Points and to start making your viewpoint stops from there. This way you can simply pull over to the right for the various viewpoint stops which are all located on the east side of the road.

We were luckily to see quite a bit of snow on the ground at Yovimpa Point during our recent visit. This made for nice photographs of the surrounding cliffs which made up the viewpoint.

Note: From Yovimpa Point if you look into the distance, you can identify the Grand Staircase-Escalante Monument as well as the red rocks that make up the Vermillion Cliffs.

After seeing Yovimpa Point, you can walk 3-4 minutes to the Rainbow Point, where there is a very nice view into Bryce Canyon which stretches for miles. These two viewpoints share the same parking lot so you should make sure to see both when making a stop here. Combined, this is a good spot for a 10-20 minute stop before moving onward with your...

While Yovimpa Point was pleasant to visit, we found it less engaging compared to the main areas of Bryce Canyon. In our view, if time is limited, it may be best to skip the extra drive for this...

One day in Bryce Canyon National Park: 🎒Hike into the amphitheater - several trails lead into the canyon for up close views of hoodoos & natural tunnels / top trail suggestion: Navajo Loop & Queen’s Garden - 2.9 mile loop trail with views of Sunrise & Sunset Points and famous hoodoos like Thor’s Hammer & Queen Victoria 🚙 Drive the 18 mile scenic drive - offering 13 pull-offs for overlooks & trailheads / top must-stops: Natural Bridge (incredible natural arch with views of hoodoos) & Yovimpa Point (views of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument) - during summer months there is a shuttle that runs down the scenic drive 🌅 Watch the sunset at Sunset Point - accurately named, this point offers incredible colors setting over the hoodoos and amazing panoramic views into the canyon (Navajo Trail starts at this spot) ✨ Star-gaze - Bryce Canyon is an International Dark Sky Park & offers views of the milky way & thousands of stars / pro-tip: Park Rangers host astronomy & night sky programs including constellation tours (programs are free but be sure to make a reservation) Is Bryce Canyon National Park on your list? (videos in order: Sunrise Point, Navajo Trail, Thor’s Hammer, Queens Garden Trail, Rainbow Point, Sunset Point) #BryceCanyonNationalPark #BryceCanyon #NationalPark #NationalParkWeek #OptOutside #HikeUtah #hiking
