I am giving the dealership 3 stars because there were some good qualities and bad. I called the dealership about a vehicle I seen advertised for an exceptional price, thought it was too good to be true. When I called and asked about the particular vehicle and gave the salesman the price he seem shocked by it too but still took my information and proceeded to check with a manager to confirm the pricing was correct. To my surprise the price was correct, my sales rep even sent the information in an email as confirmation. So at this point I agree to move forward with the purchase of the vehicle, granted they could give me a good price on my trade, interest rate, terms, etc. He even offered to drive the vehicle to me because I couldn't come in that day but I declined because I live 1.5 away from the dealer. Here is where the issues come into play, I called the dealership the next day because I hadn't received a phone call back yet, thinking welp they sold it!! Sales rep answers and tells me "well there have been some issues with the price of the vehicle, looks like some of the rebates offered don't apply to you". He proceeds to tell me about the rebates and how they are only offered to loyalty customers and GM employees, seems a little fishy to me, the rebate information in the email said nothing about loyalty customers or GM employee price, ONLY "GM Rebate offered to Select 2018 Chevy Models" But yet insures me that he could work something out since I had already been told a confirmed price. I was going to Baton Rouge that Friday, which put me passing the dealership any way so I agreed to stop in to "see what I can get my manager to work out. It's always better when the customer is sitting in the dealership", yea OK!! I stop by and my sales rep has a customer, even though I gave him a specific time that I would arrive & I arrived promptly at the time I specified. So another rep sits me down, explains why the discounts don't apply to me and offers me bottom dollar for my trade. I of course decline the offer, as I would be spending $10,000 more for the vehicle then what was initially told to me, even in email confirmation. I also find out later that my credit was pulled by the dealership AFTER I declined the offer. The customer service was great, the dealership was clean, the vehicles are nice BUT please watch out for those "Vaughn Value" advertisements that offer you a nice vehicle at a price that sounds too good to be true, because the deal isn't always...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI don't like to leave poor reviews for any company because I realize a company is made of mostly hard working people like you and me, but for this experience I will make an exception. I am in the market for a used Toyota Tundra and am shopping out of Houston, TX. I, like many others, am looking for the best deal and found Vaughn Motors out of Bunkie, LA. I immediately called and my call was answered by Earl. I let Earl know what my budget is, something you don't do when negotiating, and simply asked if we could work that truck into my budget. He said, "It will be a stretch but it can be done." He just had to confirm with his Manager, a tactic commonly used with car salespeople. He called me back 10 minutes later and confirmed the deal can be done and just needed me to send in my social security card and driver's license to get the deal started. I did. Some time later James (Or John) Jordan called me back and said the deal is done, we just needed to finalize the paperwork and he continued to breakdown the pricing. The initial agreed upon price was $18,000, Mr. Jordan then told me it was $22,000! A whole $4,000 more! When I asked him to breakdown the pricing, after some reluctance, he tried to tell me the taxes were $2,000, when they were actually $1,120 (Texas 6.25%), and there was an additional warranty added that was not asked for, plus an additional $295 for "accessories". This is a used vehicle! I did not ask nor will you add accessories to a used vehicle! After expressing my disdain Mr. Jordan removed the warranty cost and reduced the price to $19,500, still $1,500 more than I agreed to. I would have paid $19,000 to get a truck, I am in desperate need for a truck after losing mine in an accident that was not my fault, and figured $1,000 more was not a big deal. But they did not budge to $19,000. The following day I called to express my grievance to Earl, Joey, or Richard (Joey and Richard are Sales Managers), I never got a response. I called repeatedly and my calls were transferred but never answered. I emailed Joey and he never answered or called me back. And the last time I called I was on hold for almost 20 minutes before someone answered, said hello, and hung-up on me while I was saying hello repeatedly. This has been a horrible experience and I am glad I did not spend my money supporting this business. ...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI know that buying a car is racket and filled with emotions and games , but even with knowing that I wouldnāt recommend this place to my worst enemy. I was referred here by two different friends and have heard good reviews of this āsmall town dealer ā that will ālisten to your needs and help you out or show you whatās possibleā even had a specific salesperson that was recommend to me. I gave them two different vehicles I was mostly interested in , told them my absolutes ādonāt wants ā told them my max payment and max out of pocket amounts. Rather than listening to anyone thing I said or requested they started giving me vehicles to drive that were nothing like what I wanted or was interested in. Finally landed on (one I walked in requesting to see ) mind blowing why we didnāt start with that one. Drove it , liked it , salesperson starts talking about signing and taking it home , so Iām assuming itās within my budget. Why else let me even look at it. Upon sitting down back at the desk Iām presented with numbers no where near what I said I was comfortable with. I said well if thatās the numbers Iām walking , politely, then the high pressure started. āWell how close can you get ?!?? ā like it was a secret. Informed them I told them how close I could get when I walked in and said āhey I probably need to go to a cheaper vehicle ā which was met with āwell if you can do this , then we can change a lot on this number (sale price ) we can change all that and give you a bigger discount if you put more down ā thatās pretty much where I lost it , your cost in a vehicle that āhadnāt even been put through service ā or even sat on your lot for a week , is all that determines the amount of discount. My down payment does not! I informed my salesperson that if heās all a fake and numbers arnt already what is the ābest price ā then Iām leaving quick fast and in a hurry, which I did. Iām still at a loss of why the cheaper of the Theo vehicles I had picked wasnāt ever an option only paying you more was a option , I was not listened to , my time as well as thereās was wasted. I personally worked in the dealership land scape myself for a cumulative 10 years before I got sick of it and changed paths a few years ago , this place here reminded me of why I left. If they called and offered me a free car I...
