If you are looking for the perfect endorphin release to the brain after a night of drinking, then look no further than the Brewster Burger served at Burgaw Brewing! The burger was juicy and well-seasoned double smash, cooked to order however it was on the greasy side and perfect for that hangover you got the night before. This particular burger is a double smash burger smothered in beer cheese, roasted garlic aioli, smoked onions and sauteed mushrooms on a toasted brioche bun. I paired my burger with their house fries, which honestly were just normal fries, nothing good or bad stood out. HOWEVER, they do have a premium side of Tater tots.... these are definitely a thing to write home about! These things are sour cream, cheddar & chive filled, and they are worth the $5.00 extra as it is a one of a kind experience. NO tater tot that is served in a local spot or franchise comes close to the taste of these flavor bombs! KUDOS on this creation!
Let’s break the burger down a bit:
The beer cheese was robust and took the reins in flavor with a creamy, tangy delight that perfectly complements the savory flavors of the burger.
The roasted garlic aioli made this a bit interesting as it added a depth of flavor that’s both savory and sweet, while the aioli provides a creamy texture that balances out the richness of the cheese but was a little to garlicky for the combination.
The addition of the smoked onion and sauteed mushroom was like a little burst of sunshine on a cloudy day as they both add texture and flavor that rounds out the entire experience. These additions are also probably why the burger was on the greasier side but overall, I would give the burger a 4.5 / 5.
Good Time Girl - Lager - Vienna If I had to do it again, I wouldn’t have chosen a Vienna style lager. It did not pair well with the hangover burger I just indulged in I would give it a 3.5 / 5. The beer itself was sweet & malty where the initial reaction was little sweet up front and a small bite at the end. Overall, I believe if I didn’t pair it with the burger of my choice it would be enjoyable and definitely worth the try.
Also, to note the customer service at this establishment was top notch. They went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect to the customers experience, to include food, drinks, to-go orders, and we were comfortable! We had a small issue, but they addressed it immediately in a professional matter to where the manager came out and personally apologized and ensured it was personally fixed.

Read moreFood is passable but way overpriced. For bergaw it's a huge step up from the local options. North of here on 40 is a wasteland in terms of food until Raleigh. This area is close to wilmington which is another culinary void. I've never understood why places where there is alot of money in the local economy or a college town and there is no good food scene. This place blows anything in the area out of the water. But the bar is very low. The beer selection is OK for an establishment of this type in the location it's in, but the cost of everything is out of touch with the demographic and location. This place is under 20 min from Wilmington. The south is great for retail that doesn't match quality of product for the price. This place is pricey. Not bad atmosphere. There's going to be some quirky stuff while the staff catches up to the median culinary experience of the area maybe. Overall not bad if your stranded in bergaw. The lines aren't oppressive. The Staff was nice every visit. If the line is bad there are antique shops and a variety store on the same block to kill time. Not a bad place to eat even with a somewhat abbreviated menu. Outdoor activities (cornhole an such) and seating. The pricing may be due to the standard supply chain fleecing in the rual south but my money is on over staffing. More back and front of the house staff than customers on both visits. Hard to keep down costs with huge labor force overhead. This place could see similar problems as the mad boar. Not enough trained staff (in the area) with the food service experience to pull off this type of establishment in the area it's in. The Business seems steady. all the basic access for the...
Read moreEdited on bottom: Visit quite regularly as this is one of the few places for lunch in Burgaw with work colleagues. A member of our group always orders from the children's menu (due to dietary restrictions), however she still pays full price for her drink and tips generously. The waitress was very polite and said it was not allowed, so we requested to speak to the manager to explain the situation and that we've visited many times without an issue. The manager refused to accommodate and was extremely rude. She rolled her eyes, and did not even try to make amends for this or understand our situation. While I respect the rule, there are always exceptions to the rule (as someone who worked in the restaurant industry for years). Truly disappointed and disgusted by the manager's attitude and body language. We will not be back again. (And we purchase regularly to-go orders for our office as well).
After posting this review, the manager approached our table and said that we didn’t make it clear why one of our party requested a child meal, we explained to her again why, and she was combative and loud. I asked her to please end the conversation as it wasn’t going anywhere. She continued to argue with us in front of other customers. It was embarrassing and extremely rude. At no point did she try to rectify the situation. She was more concerned with a google review. I asked multiple times for her to leave our table as we were just trying to pay and leave. We found out after paying that she is...
