We built our home in 2005 and have lived in The Village ever since. This neighborhood quickly became our home and continues to be a great place to live today. There are families, retirees, diversity, and an active social calendar for all types of tastes and interests. We are close to I 94 with a trip to downtown Chicago only 45 minutes away. If you desire an escape, the sunset coast of Lake Michigan is also a short drive with beaches, dunes, and of course amazing sunsets. South Bend, home to Notre Dame University and all the activities surrounding an international university is only an hour from your home. We can be at an airport with flights anywhere in the world in under 2 hours even with traffic, explore urban areas or incredible areas of nature all close to home. When you are at home all the conveniences you need from groceries to medical care is all close by. The Village is truly a special place from it’s location to more importantly it’s residents. The people make this a neighborhood, not a subdivision. You should seriously consider making The Village...

The Village in Burns Harbor is a wonderful place to live! Not all neighborhoods are created equal and what I think makes a great neighborhood is- Neighbors that become friends, a mix of families, singles and retirees, nice parks to play or relax in, neighborhood activities, a good school system, and people that care for their homes. I think this is a neighborhood where people try to help each other. It doesn't hurt to be close to the train station and be able to head into Chicago easily or get onto I94 in a few minutes. Being within 10 minutes of two different hospitals is another benefit. We spent a lot of time searching for the perfect place to live. There is no such place but I think we came pretty close with The Village in...

It's an OK place, the developers dream of recreating a village from a bygone area may have sounded good but it's proven otherwise. The on the street parking may have been ok in the 20' and 30's when people used public transportation and did not own a car but today with every household with 2 or more vehicles it doesn't work. Not to mention the village serves as an entrance for a large complex is a major flaw. There is way to much traffic for a...
