We recently signed our boys up for a summer soccer classes at Burnsville YMCA. We had such a disappointing experience. We signed them up for separate classes, that were clearly identified as separate and one class for 3-4 year olds and another for 5-6 year olds. On the first day of class, we found out they combined the classes. That is way too big a range for both age and skill set to be productive. It was also one coach with 13 kids, which is not productive in any way. We reached out to a coordinator with these concerns after the first class, and we were dismissed with no explanation. There were frequently different coaches, resulting in more chaos and very little relationship or skill building. It felt like they just found a person to throw out there each week, and coaches were typically late. There was clearly no developed lesson plan. They did very little skill building and only scrimmaged for most of class, which was chaotic and resulted in fights and hurt feelings between kids because again, working with way too wide an age range, too many kids and variance in soccer skill sets. The big kids dominated and little ones were left out. Little ones were frequently just running around. Some coaches emphasized score keeping and others said, we donāt keep score, which resulted in frustration for the kids week to week, understandably so. It was so random and chaotic every week, and our boys frequently didnāt want to go. Would never recommend this soccer program, and we wonāt sign our kids up for Y...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was working out with my sons father & my son in the stroller next to us sleeping. This lady approached us very rudely saying how I can't work out with my son right there when I have been doing it for months at multiple YMCA locations. My sons father is handicapped he needs my help. We don't feel comfortable leaving our son in the daycare, he simply was just sleeping. We are never in the way. She was yelling at us in front of everyone is that really needed? Saying how it's the policy ect, if it is then why is this my first time hearing about it? When I asked a different employee that I see regularly during the night he said he has no clue if it is or isn't a policy. She can see me talking to him from the level below starts yelling again how it's the policy I need to leave. I kept talking to the employee who I was originally talking to he apologized for the way she acted. When asked to speak to a manager she claims that there is none on staff. Rude makes me never want to come back, since then I have not seen this lady. I have not heard a response from any...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI enjoyed this gym when I first started, however, I decided to cancel after less than a month for many reasons. First, the fact that kids are allowed to run around the gym and use workout equipment is beyond me and I've never seen that at a gym before. It seems like a liability to me. Also, mothers with strollers walking on the walking track and getting in people's way when they are trying to jog is unacceptable. I understand that the Y is a family friendly place, however, there are just too many kids running around and staff clearly doesn't do their job because I see many kids playing on the workout equipment and that lessens the chance of other people being able to use it. For $120 a month, I am very dissatisfied and when I am spending that much money, I expect to be able to use the amenities. Every time I went there, the basketball court was never open for other guests who pay for it to use. On top of that, they didn't link my dad to our account. My experience with the Y has been so frustrating and although the staff was helpful, I probably will...
