Obviously it was the last day of the season. And the lifeguards sure acted like it too. Every life guard that was there did not care to do their job. We seen lifeguards staring at their feet, having conversations with younger teens, playing with rocks, laying down on the concrete. My husband and I were very upset to watch these lifeguards. I do not rely on these so called lifeguards to babysit our kids. But, I do expect them to do the job they are still getting paid for. They are there to save lives, if necessary. How can you save a life if you are not even paying attention to the kids. The time we were there, they did several rotations. We were quite furious about the spot between the blue and yellow slide, where the lifeguards stand. One guy was standing there tossing rocks up in the air, another guy was laying on top of the blue slide, like he was doing a photo shoot. Another guy just moved over to the steps to talk to someone, and so at that time nobody was watching the kids coming off the slides. Then when he finally came back between the slides , the guy layed down. HE WAS LAYING DOWN!!! When it was time to switch, a girl lifeguard came to take his spot between the slides. She immediately layed down too. SHE WAS LAYING DOWN WHILE KIDS WERE COMING DOWN THE SLIDE! The sad faces on the ground that ive heard they use for time out spots is ridiculous!! There was no adult manager on duty. Nobody to walk around and make sure these lifeguards were doing their job ( because I can tell you that they weren't!). WE WILL NEVER COME BACK TO THIS...
Read moreI would NEVER recommend this pool to anyone. I called 2 weeks ago and asked if they would be open and let them know I had over 30+ people coming from a birthday. They insured me the pool would be open. When we arrrived 2 hrs before the party, it was not opened. I called to get answer machine. The pool was suppose to open at 12 pm. They finally returned my call at 3:30 pm and said they were now opened. I asked them why they were closed and they lied to me saying that storms caused them to postpone opening. They never notified me. But I was in Butler at 12 pm getting last minute party supplies and it WAS sunshining. They refused to give a discount and even refused to let my mother stand in the shallow area with a completely blind 7 yrs old to help her not get hurt. Half of our party did not even bring their swimsuits because it was closed. It top all thst off, when we got here only adults could swim for i don't know how long. The kids were finally allowed in the pool. They were in only about 40 minutes when they kicked everyone out of the pool to treat the pool. We waited anothet 20 minutes. So we paid full price for kids to maybe swim a lil over an hour. They ruined my daughter's birthday. She was crying and so upset. I talked to 2 managers and both of them were unprofessional. They need at least 1 grownup. I see 8 teenage lifeguard/employees but no adult. Very bad place to take your kids. We went to Harrisonville public pool 2 weeks ago. It was a great experience. NOT HERE AT...
Read moreIf you're going to charge full price for anyone under 18, then they should be allowed in the pool during adult swim. I'm paying $2 more for my ten year old to sit on the side while adults swim.... This logic is ignorant! The pool was so cloudy that the lifeguards refused to allow anyone on the diving boards for fear that they wouldn't see the people at the bottom. That seems alarming... ALSO, the giant frowns painted on ground by the lifeguard stations is RIDICULOUS! If children are acting out, they need to be ejected from the aquatic center! No one wants to see a bunch of frowns painted in a place for fun, especially with kids sitting there IN TIME OUT, enforced by a teenage lifeguard! None of this makes sense... I will never come back! There was ten of us that gave your business money today... I know for a fact most of us won't make that...
