I took my sweet 3 year old daughter in for a simple shoulder length hair cut last night. No layers. Just an easy hair cut. It was her very first hair cut and her beautiful hair was all the way down her back. I brought up her being a girl to Cameron dowen and even told asked him if he can do a side bang that would be great, but if not, no big deal. He said barely anything to my sweet girl as she sat there cooperating perfectly. She was nervous and he did nothing to make her feel comfortable. He absolutely butchered her beautiful hair. A literal hack job. It was cut so unbelievably short like a bowl practically up to her ears with slightly longer mullet like hair in the back. He was shown a picture up front and said nothing about not being about to do it. As a licensed barber a simple hair cut should be no issue, and if you can't do it, say that up front! He never asked if the length was ok. Never said anything to me. I immediately took her to try and salvage her hair at another hair studio, and the stylist was horrified at her hair and was unfortunately only able to even things out a bit. My sweet girl looks like a boy, when all she wanted was a hair cut like her mom. I'm horrified at their lack competence, and their lack of care for ruining her hair and charging 22$ for it. We have immediately cancelled my son's appointment and will never return nor recommend...

My son and husband have been coming to Dowen's FOREVER! I bring my Uncle Tom in and the guys are wonderful with him. He's special needs, so at times he may not sit still, or likes to ask a lot of questions. Other times, he sits in silence. They are amazing with him! You will NEVER find another place that is SUPER clean, SUPER fun, and overall just a great place to chill. Our son is able to drive now, so I don't get a chance to hang out. All 3 guys, Jake, lil Jake & Cameron are phenomenal. They are a busy place. So, make an appointment. :) Walk-ins are typically welcome, but they are popular with the community and surrounding. They offer great products too! So, if you need anything for your hair or beard, they offer a nice selection. Have taken my boys to Jake since he opened. Wait times can be long prior to covid but with the new appointment system things move pretty fast now! He has ALWAYS been patient with my boys. He always had conversation with them. Very funny and straight forward! I would recommend his services to anyone looking for a barber! My boys love the old-school feel!...
