I love this thrift store and have found excellent things here. It is the only thrift store for miles and I appreciate that very much.
However, I have had many negative experiences with the elevated pricing at this store. The Acorn Shed is frequently locked due to being full, and I have often heard the workers mention that the store is at capacity. Why then does it remain policy to set prices so high? Nobody wins here. When I find 10 things I like and can only afford 1 or 2 because the others are double the price or more in the boutique, that is a problem. Thrift stores are one of the only businesses to get their stock dropped off at their doorstep, completely free of charge, compliments of the community. it is unacceptable to then weed out the majority of quality items for the boutique and leave customers feeling scammed over a price you had no business charging. It does not matter if you are a charity shop for a special cause. All thrift stores are. I hope the pricing will be lower in the future so that I can do business here...
