Sad, frustrated, angry... there really are no perfect words to explain the experience I had at Canton Veterinary Clinic today. I had a close family friend refer me to this clinic to get my kitten neutered so I had no hesitation taking my animal here as my friend takes all her pets. Didnât even think twice! I was thrilled to go in fully trusting. I came out from Dallas and spent what was a very pleasant day touring around Canton waiting for my pet to be ready. Things felt very tense the second I walked into this clinic and spoke to Kelly (she always sounded pleasant on the phone.) As I handed my animal over for surgery Kelly asked if I was there for his rabies vaccine & neuter to which I firmly corrected no, only neuter. My kitty has just been given his rabies vaccine last month. I called our other vet to get his forms faxed over to the office asap as I could already sense that something weird was going on. So I left and went about my day! Again like the very thorough and communicative person I am, I called Kelly mid day to confirm that they had received kittyâs records and honestly to remind the staff that they did NOT have permission to give any vaccines as they were not necessary. Guess they dropped the ball on the first fax so I had it sent again. Either way, my message was crystal clear. Fast forward to 3pm and time to pick up my pet. I walk in to pay and sure enough my heart sank as I was told my kitten had been REVACCINATED and that they did not receive the fax from the other vet until it was too late. I immediately requested to speak with the vet and was holding back tears as I tried to stand my ground. Dr Eberhart was the vet assigned to my kitty. As I walked back into the room to privately speak to him he basically went on about how he trusts no one and has so many criminals and untrustworthy people bring their pets to him. His words to me âI have no reason to trust that what youâre telling me is true about your pet having his rabies vaccine until I am proven otherwise. I am a Christian man.â Not sure why that was necessary but sir, that was not very christianlike of you. After he let me speak and heard my words he refused to take it out of my amount to be paid. $16 is clearly worth it to him to be prideful over. We ended up splitting the cost $8/$8 which is truly comical. I feel like I was downsized to nothing by this clinic who clearly thinks they have a right to do and charge you whatever they please. Luckily my kitty should be just fine and the neuter was a beautiful job & only reason for my 2 stars because I AM fair. These are extremely unfair people. Do not take your...
Read moreIf i could give a zero I would, my sweet fur baby was undergoing an illness and we came to this clinic in hopes of at least assessing the issue. The nurse that helped gave her a quick examination by squeezing her mouth and saying dogs should not do that and prescribed antibiotics. Fast forward a week after medication was complete, issues were still present, took her in and as before her mouth was checked whilst being held down and still prescribed antibiotics and inflammatory meds. Despite her drooling and lethargy, rabies was the first thought but no proper tests were performed to fully determine other than looking in the mouth. Lastly of this review, my wife had made a phone call to give an update for further check up as my dog was becoming weaker and more sick, she was told that the doctor will give a call back and weâve never received that phone call. My dog was undergoing symptoms worse than just âsomething lodged in her throatâ or ânerves in her jawâ this past night and I made a phone call to after hours at 6:00 pm as my pet was seen during the 14 day period for emergency care. I was told the doctor would give me a call back âas soon as possibleâ. Made calls in surrounding areas to ensure a visit to have a check up, while waiting and searching for other options, I had finally received a call from the doctor and totally pushed aside the emergency of pale gums and heavy breathing followed by the same lethargic and weak symptoms to be told BY THE DOCTOR DURING EMERGENCY HOURS âI would take her in to Tylerâs facility if it is an emergency, if not she could be seen in the morning at 8:00 amâ. Total disregard of wellness and simply no pride in work with animals or...
Read morePlease listen to the bad reviews. Theyâre there for a reason. My dog got bit on the face by a venomous snake. Massive swelling to her face and neck, and she was coughing from her throat being swollen and shaking in pain. My husband panicked and just wanted to get her to the closest place- which was here. He called ahead to let them know. They still made him wait and the front desk staff was completely uncaring and rude⌠told him dogs metabolize snake bites faster than humans so that basically it wasnât a big deal. He finally got seen and the female veterinarian basically acted like he was an idiot for asking for antivenom and said thereâs only antivenom for rattlesnakes. This information is completely incorrect. I am a part of a group called National Snakebite Support, which is a big group of doctors and vets who specialize in snake bites. I was prepared and armed with knowledge. All the vet did was give her antibiotics, steroids, and Benadryl- which do absolutely nothing for snake bites and are actually contraindicated. The ONLY thing that helps a venomous snake bite is antivenom. So we wasted money and left there with zero improvement and were sent home to see if sheâd die overnight or pull through. We called around and found out that Stone Creek Veterinary in Forney carries antivenom, they got her in immediately, and Dr. Brewer administered the antivenom and stayed with her overnight to monitor her. Sheâs much improved today! All to say, donât waste your time at this vet. The front desk staff sucks. The vet sucks. Their information sucks. They donât care about your pet. Go to Stone Creek in Forney, itâs...
