Ducketts Produce — Local services in Canton

Overpriced products. Extortionist pricing policies. Unfair trade.

They'll sell you gardening plants in the Spring, but when time comes to can at the end of the season they won't sell you a case of canning jars unless you buy $25 of their produce. Their pretense for this policy is to "make sure that people who need jars can get jars." What? No need to buy their vegetables when you already have your own to can, and I only wanted one case out of their inventory of eighteen or more.

My advice is to stay away. These people are nothing more than profiteers running this and similar rackets among the locals all the time.

Ducketts is my favorite place to get fresh produce, farm fresh eggs, corn meal, jellies and jams, baked goods and more! Their prices are usually better than the grocery store and the people that run the place are so helpful knowledgeable and friendly. They know the farmers and growers they buy from and can tell you where each item is from. We are so lucky to have this local 'Mom & Pop' gem in Haywood County! At least when I was there, lots of their produce was rotted or very bruised. I expected much more from them. Having never been there, I was not very impressed. Glad they sell local stuff from local farms and families. Employees are friendly enough. When I was there, they barely noticed shoppers.
