Hometown Ace Hardware — Local services in Canton

The selection is better than most HW stores this size but I'd say the pros end there other than location. There is usually one member of the staff who's engaging and the rest seem like they'd rather be at the DMV. Staff doesn't have to be obsequious but I worked in customer service and I can tell the difference between an engaged staff that enjoys their work and a staff that is counting the minutes till they can clock out. And their sound system has blown speakers so if you're directly under one of them while trying to find the right bolt or paint it's like distorted nails on a chalkboard. I'd venture that if Lowe's was just 2 miles closer this store...

Well, that's a 1st for me. Maybe this store has to dealwith a lot of theft but it still feels wrong to me, I doubt I'll go in this store if i do need anything. I ride my motorcycle on my days off and have never had anyone tell me to "leave it by the door" so i left, the store associate who delivered the message wasn't rude but it made me feel like i was doing something wrong so i left, I've got personal things in my bag I'd only let the police look though, I'm not leaving it at the door, i don't trust the associates...

This place of business is not being safe during this time when we need to be safe. I saw about 40 people go in and out one day, and my husband and one other wearing masks. Wearing protection is a choice. But a sign on the door of this business, encouraging the customers to please wear masks and gloves would protect us all, them as well as the public. That would show us that this business believed in staying safe. This has nothing to do with the owners and quality of this store. It is great, much quality...
