The police officers are uneducated for commercial vehicles. I'm right at 13'6". Of course over height sensor goes off, no big deal, they checked it even with my bags dumped and was told I was still 1.5"-2" TOO HIGH. Told them I'd rip out my tape measure right there. Got told I couldn't cross and would have to go around (I was SB to Virginia Beach) , a 8 hour detour. I turned around and parked, got my tape out and I'm 13'4.5" with air dumped. Went back through and no issues, didn't even trip the sensor after getting checked out by the wonderful officers. Didn't do a dang thing. Wasted 20 minutes of my day to go across this gorgeous piece of engineering. Get an accurate measuring pole, not one thats just over 13' for a 13'6" clearance. Chesapeake Bay bridge tunnel I've been going through there for years and for years hazardous materials have been not allowed to travel through those tunnels which included camper with propane recently I took a trip and found out that if your RV tanks are full or half full and you have your RV tanks turned off when you pull up to the toll they will ask you and if you tell them that your tanks are closed they will let you go through those tiles wow I was shocked when I found out so you don't have to go all the way around just try to get back to the other side now you can go through it's a great deal great surprise and as always most scenic beautiful and they're working on those tunnels and bridges right now to improve the...

As a local resident of the ESVA w a Uber business.. Shore Ride.. Im going across and back at least once or twice a week picking up or dropping off at ORF airport..
