I recently saw Barry for a massage after being gifted with a certificate to O'Shin Healing Spa from my bestie who wanted to offer me reprieve from the stresses of life. It's hard to describe what a gift it was. First off, I was delighted to find that the massage room was very spacious (great ventilation) with a lovely and soothing ambiance. The table was comfortable, padded and warm - it was so easy to settle in and to finally exhale. On to the bodywork itself. Barry was masterful in creating the perfect balance between techniques that fostered deep relaxation and those that worked out the trouble spots of my musculature. He was able to identify areas that needed firmer pressure & extra attention and it became clear I was in the hands of a very well-trained therapist who incorporated various modalities rooted in Chinese tradition. It was an absolute treat! I noticed changes in my body in the days to come. I realized that I was in the beginning stages of a healing journey with Barry. Needless to say, I returned the week following, as I will again next week. The attunements continue and I feel an increased vitality that seems to build upon itself daily. Who knew? With such fair pricing and superb service delivery, I would be remiss to forgo the opportunity for enhanced health and well-being....

Without me saying anything, he identified an old injury in my shoulder and arm from a skiing accident in April that never quite healed. Barry knew exactly how to target the knots, and even incorporated cupping, which brought incredible relief. As a startup founder, I carry a lot of stress and tension, and during each session, I can actually feel the tightness release, leaving me standing taller with improved posture immediately afterward.

Wow, what an epic oasis and a full body/mind escape. My wife and I each had a 90 minute, deep tissue massage done by Barry and Jo Ann. From the booking process to the exit we were stoked on our experience. The spa is in a quiet corner a block above AJ's market on Soquel. Clean and calm space with excellent practitioners. I went in after two months of being on my back after a major knee surgery and my wife went in after a few months of single handedly wrangling our toddler with me on the injury reserve list. Barry accommodated the table to keep me comfortable while digging into those built up knots that needed the nudge to get out. All in all, will be returning and excited to try the cupping services they offer after seeing a woman leaving a session as I entered and she was all jazzed on the relief.
