Loft Coffee — Restaurant in Capitola

This place is perfect as a modern study vibe. You can come here to do work, hangout with friends, or just sip on some coffee which is priced below average but tastes immaculate. The service was beyond exceptional and the wifi is extremely fast. I highly recommend anyone to come and check it out, great upstairs seating with my only recommendation being to have another couch space on the other side of the upper level. Currently there is one couch space, but a second one with tables in the middle of the space would be fantastic.

Also what was surprising was that for as modern and trendy as this place is, there is a mix of all age groups which was nice. It isn't just a place for younger people. Fantastic open breathable space with a lot of seating space.

Recommendations to the owner/staff: 2nd couch space on the other side of the upper level More outlets around the shop, ideally one more on the upper level and 2 for the tables. Upstairs bathroom? That would be awesome! Slightly longer hours would be fantastic for people who work/study a bit more.

This was a great find! My husband and I came to Santa Cruz for our anniversary - we had been here from Ohio 7 years ago for our honeymoon. We were determined to return to Aldo’s Bakery, but were disappointed to find it closed so we looked for alternatives and ended up at Loft. The space is HUGE! We both said multiple times that we would have spent so much time at a place like this if we were students in the area. The ham and cheese croissant was amazing and the sausage egg and cheese sandwich was good enough that my husband ordered a second one. The coffee was great and they had a lot of options. My only caveat would be that their lavender syrup is STRONG. Stronger than any lavender syrup I’ve had before. I had not been expecting that. Came for an in person meeting, was getting some work done on my laptop while waiting. Upon arrival there was an area that had someone's trash on it. After waiting 15 mins to see if whoever left it there was coming back I approached a barista and asked if it'd be possible to get that area cleaned because there's an outlet close to it and my laptop is dying (no other outlet areas were available, I checked). She replied that there were trash cans and I could clean the area if I wanted to. As someone who has worked in food service prior I found that pretty offensive.
