Farmer's Daughter Market & Butcher — Local services in Capon Bridge

Saw the Farmer's Daughter in a post about best burgers in each state a year or two ago. Marked it as a place I wanted to go if I ever got to northern WV and, on Saturday, I finally made it. Small market/butcher shop which was very nice. I would love to have been able to buy some of the sausage but couldnt as i had no place on the motorcycle or a way to keep it refrigerated. If you look at their menu you'll see they do pretty much do 2 or 3 things. Well the post I saw this place in didn't steer me wrong! What a perfect burger! Hand pressed and cooked perfect...little crunch on the outside and perfectly done on the inside. The Dukes Mayo and picked onion gave it perfect tang and bun was amazing. As a guy who uses burgers as a baseline for restaurants, I can say it's definitely in the top 1 or 2 burgers I've had. Obviously taste is subjective but I don't think any burger folks would be...

I attempt to support small businesses within my community. I've tried to support the Farmers Daughter since they arrived in Capon Bridge. The food and meats are good but prices have really gotten out of control. I've accepted the fact that this place is for city-folk tourists, who are in the mood to stop and have a burger on their Saturday afternoon drive. The lunch menu is pretty good and I have had one of the burgers which is also very good. Sure you get the whole, "look at me, I can cut up meat" experience you wont find in big box stores. There are a lot of good farms in the area where you can pay half for the same quality as the Farmers Daughter. I wish Farmers Daughter all the best with their continued support from tourists. I’m new to this area and exploring places. This is a great find for me! For starters - when I walked in the aroma was so delightful I was in heaven. It very much reminded me of butcher shops from when I was a kid where you had the butcher the baker and the candy store within walking distance. And that was New York City. I rather doubt that exists anymore but here have a butcher shop like I recall - with all sorts of yummies. I’d already had breakfast and it was early so did not get anything for lunch but did get some potato salad and pastrami to eat later in the day and both were delicious.
