What should have been a relatively relaxing 9 am round of golf was anything but that.
I find it absolutely unbelievable that the golf course at Omni La Costa charges a substantial fee for what amounted to a site seeing tour of their groundskeepers maintaining the golf course. I wish I had kept track of the amount of holes that were played which DID NOT have grounds crew in the fairway and lingering around the greens.
Had I known that I would be paying a game of “try not to hit the groundskeeper” I would have saved my money and took a nap by the pool.
Between the lawn mowers, edgers and leaf blowers, this round felt more like driving through a war zone than a golf course.
I am very well aware of the hard work, care and effort that is needed to maintain a golf course, but if I am paying over $200 to play, it is unacceptable that I am attempting to avoid the lingering crew on the majority of my swings.
I will absolutely not be playing golf at Omni La Costa ever again. They need to lower their prices or offer a discounted rate when the grounds crew is on just about every single hole.
I very badly wanted to enjoy this course. It is unfortunate that wasn’t the case.
The only reason this is 2 stars instead of 1 is because the staff in the pro shop, the starter, and the bag handlers were all very friendly and enjoyable to work with. I appreciated their attentiveness and enthusiasm. This leads me to believe that who ever is managing the groundskeepers is separate from whoever is managing these staff.
Waste of money and a waste of time. Go play...
Read moreI play every weekend on many different courses. I see comments on here of people paying $200+ for a t-time. I paid $125 and here my take. Even for the $125, I feel it's not worth. Fairways were taking care of. Best so far. Greens, well, definitely could be better for the price and club atmosphere. Now the bunkers, worst by far. Mission Trails, a course where I pay $25 has better bunkers than most, including Omni. Beats Omni by 10 miles. Pace of play: we were behind a group that took one guy 6 shots to get halfway, not just one hole but 7 holes before we caught up to them on a T-box to ask if we can play through. The one guy shot about a 10+ on every hole. Overall, don't think I'll ever play here again. Not worth the price and waiting on people infront of us who don't know how to pick up and go...
Read moreplayed on 12/28/21. Course was in very subpar condition considering we paid $175 to play. The course layout is extremely boring and nothing unique. The hospitality and amenities were great but im struggling to find anything positive about the course. The greens were also in subpar shape. I could only see myself paying 50-80 dollars for this course, there is nothing that would make this course be valued at $175. There is no excuse for a course to have conditions like these while charging as much as they do. I would highly recommend going to the crossings at Carlsbad instead or Aviara. Looking at past reviews it looks like this course use to be very good but something has changed in...
