I recently had the pleasure of visiting Broken Yolk Restaurant for breakfast, and it was an experience that deserves to be shared. This delightful morning excursion featured my favorite dish, El Fuego, and was made all the more enjoyable by our server, Andrea.
From the moment we entered Broken Yolk, the cozy and inviting atmosphere set the perfect tone for a morning meal. I've always been a fan of their El Fuego dish, and this visit reaffirmed why it's my absolute favorite.
The El Fuego breakfast was a flavor explosion on my taste buds. The combination of spicy and savory flavors with perfectly cooked eggs was a true breakfast indulgence. The dish was served hot and fresh, and the portion size was just right to start the day with a satisfied stomach.
What truly made this visit exceptional was the service provided by Andrea. She greeted us with a warm smile and ensured our morning started on the right foot. Her knowledge of the menu was impressive, and she recommended some excellent coffee options to complement our meal.
Throughout our breakfast, Andrea's attentiveness was remarkable. She anticipated our needs, kept our coffee cups full, and ensured our El Fuego dishes were cooked to perfection. Her friendly demeanor created a welcoming atmosphere that made us feel like cherished guests.
It's worth noting that the morning rush at Broken Yolk can be quite busy, but Andrea managed everything with grace and efficiency, making our experience smooth and enjoyable.
In conclusion, Broken Yolk Restaurant continues to be a top choice for breakfast, especially when El Fuego is on the table. Andrea's exceptional service added a special touch to our morning visit, and we left feeling content and satisfied. If you're a breakfast enthusiast looking for a flavorful start to your day, Broken Yolk is the place to be.
Thank you, Andrea, and the entire Broken Yolk team, for making our morning...
Read moreBroken Yolk is a favorite café for our whole family, especially my husband. Why? Consistency. Consistently, we are greeted with smiles-Warm and Welcoming!!!! The restaurant has been remodeled twice that I can remember which means the owners care to keep the café updated. It's strange that customers would be so shallow that the interior effects their dining experience. You'll be impressed at the interior décor. Food is delicious and quality fine, bonus quantity is above average. I never leave hungry after a serving of food from Broken Yolk La Costa. Service is above average. From the minute we arrive, someone is there to greet us, and welcome with a verbal Hello. A hostess or employee no matter their position will walk you to your preferred seating. Bus person brings water or coffee right away with a smile and words to make you feel happy you chose this place to eat your breakfast. Considering there are a multitude of breakfast places to choose from--WHY Broken Yolk? Because of the overall treatment. Now the servers are multitaskers too. They seem to all pitch in to make sure the customers are happy. In the day and age, that seems to be difficult. PEOPLE-Customers suck. Our society are a bunch of grumpy complaining people that are never quite satisfied. Well in a busy restaurant satisfaction will not always be 100%-get off your high horse people--this is not Nordstrom's. Weekends are their busy days--give these people a break. Waiters and waitresses do their very best. My husband is a regular, I accompany occasionally. A shout out to Andrea and Carlos for always going above and beyond to make us feel like this is a...
Read moreOkay; it's a clean and bright chain restaurant that serves breakfast. That covers the atmosphere. Although the air conditioning was cranked so hard we had to sit outside; if there wasn't any outdoor seating we'd have left. And we probably should have anyway....
There were only a handful of customers so the staff was fairly attentive, although nobody asked us how the food was.
The food was definitely hit and miss and miss. My wife ordered the salmon avocado toast and it was absolutely fine, but that's probably because it was assembled from premade ingredients rather than cooked in-house. My stepdaughter got the chicken fried steak breakfast but only ate a few bites; the steak was edible and the gravy slightly less so. I ordered the country skillet (without gravy) and got back a mess. The veggies, potatoes, and ham were all undercooked; the eggs were slightly overcooked and covered with barely melted cheese.
I spoke with the staff afterwards but there was no manager available. There was no attempt to put things right. I pointed out that for the time and the money spent at the Broken Yolk we would have been better off going to the Bruegger's Bagels right next door.
Edited to add: I previously and mistakenly posted this review for the Oceanside location. After double-checking the map this location (La Costa) is definitely the Broken Yolk Cafe my...
