We called to get in for a couples massage. They had availability. We were quoted $100 each for an hour which we agreed to. It wasn’t the most clean or “spa” like place. Was pretty basic. Bathrooms weren’t kept up with. During the massage I asked the “massage therapist” (Don’t know if they were licensed or not) to massage my feet. He said “ok reflexology”. He lightly poked the bottom of my feet (with his nails) for maybe 5 minutes on each foot. The rest of the body massage was more of an oil rub down instead of a deep tissue massage. At the end of the massage me and my friend were charged $144.95 each! The massage therapist said the reflexology was an extra $40! The worst part is my friend didn’t even ask for a foot massage and was still charged for what I asked for! I told the massage therapist it was the worst massage I have ever received in my life and I have had hundreds of massages. Booked a 90-min massage last minute for the final slot of the day before they closed. I chose this place on recommendation from a friend. I called to let them know that I'd be less than 10 minutes late because of a problem leaving the hotel garage. Based on other reviews, I imagine that Jose (the owner) is a skilled masseuse. The woman I had was a novice and seemed to be just out of massage school. Despite a request for deep pressure, the experience felt more like a back rub from a friend than a truly therapeutic experience. Also, I wasn't informed before the appointment that the masseuse would end before 90 min from when we actually started, therefore shorting me 15-20 min of time. If that was going to be the case, I should have been offered the opportunity to adjust to a 60-min appointment rather than be charged for a 90-min massage when they knew they wouldn't honor the full 90 minutes. Shady business. My wife and I purchased $60, 60min treatments from Gustazos. They charged us an additional $29 to cover the "IVU." The IVU should have only been $13. Moreover, despite having different therapists (who were both great), we both independently only received 50min treatment vs the 60 we paid for. Normally no big deal, but when also lied to and over charged....smells shady.

As I have confirmed, in writing, with Gustazos, the IVU, or Sales Tax, is only paid on the amount of money transacted. This is accounting/business 101 to anyone who understands sales tax. This shady business is overcharging customers who use the coupon and under providing on the service. I only give 3 stars, and not 1, because they did refund most (not all) of the overcharge when called out.
