I had dreamed of riding in a baloon ever since I was a young girl and watched Dorothy and Toto go up in one as they flew back to Kansas in the Wizard of Oz. That was several decades ago! I finally fulfilled my dream at the annual Alberquerque Festival on Oct. 14th. It was everything I had ever imagined and more. The owner of the company, Jon, flew us in his new, huge, baloon with 19 people on board. It was such a thrill to fulfill this Bucket List Item. The ride was so peaceful and beautiful. Jon was so personable and explained the mechanics and pointed out the locations of interest on the ground. I highly recommend this fantastic adventure to anyone who has wanted to go Up, Up, and Away. Professional, friendly, fun, and above all safety conscious. If they cancel a flight due to unsafe conditions, they give you the choice of a refund or rescheduling. They usually fly twice each morning. My original flight was canceled due to winds at altitude, but I got to go today in 2nd flight. We followed the first flight in their vans, switched passengers, and took off from first flight’s landing spot. Albuquerque “box” wind was perfect so we were able to circle up and back over the area for about 90 minutes. Calm, serene, lovely. Jon and his whole team were amazing. Lindsay, Lee, Gave, and Gary were friendly, informative, professional, passionate and I could go on. We left from just south of the Albuquerque Ballon festival and were airborn for ~1.5 hours. Jon was skilled enough to do a dip and dash in the Rio Grande as well as increased our elevation to view all of the balloon fiesta while seeing the sunrise. He answered all of the passengers’ questions and at the end gave the traditional prayer/toast and the history of the hot air balloon. I cannot endorse him and his team/company more.
