TOTALLY satisfied with this tour, which provides an excellent and entertaining overview of a remarkable city. The fact that my wife (who is not a history buff) and I (who brake for roadside markers) could equally enjoy this tour says a lot about Ana. As a native of Santa Fe, she was so knowledgeable, and as a bonus could relate personal experiences from growing up in the city that brought to life some of the elements of the tour. Ana was extremely well-organized, yet humorous, and kept things moving. Somehow she hit a great balance between being too superficial or too in-depth. By the end of the tour, we felt we had a good overall feel for the history and significance of this city, and also a good idea of the places we wanted to see in more depth. As such, we are so glad that we could do the tour on our first day visiting the city, which allowed us to more effectively plan the remainder of our visit. Highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting an entertaining but informative introduction...
Read moreWe spent 3.5 hours with our tour guide, author Ana Pacheco, learning the history of Santa Fe from a very personal perspective. Ana’s family lived in Santa Fe for generations, and many streets and some buildings are named after her ancestors. Along with her very detailed narrative, Ana had numerous photos from the past that gave even more “life” to the history she shared. We covered a lot of ground in a variety of weather conditions, from warm sunlight to heavy hail. Through it all Ana did not miss a beat. Our group of 3 included my daughter, 16 yr old granddaughter and me (grandma). The tour was interesting to our 3 generations and involved Ana chauffeuring us around as well as some very moderate walking and climbing. It was the perfect combination of sitting and activity. This was my 4th trip to Santa Fe in 25 years, and I still learned many new things about this beautiful and artistic state capital. Thank you, Ana, for...
Read morePart walking tour part real life time travel.... Your two hour ish journey with Ana Pacheco is a lesson you soon won't forget. When coming to Santa Fe for the first time it should be required to experience the history tour with Ana.
Ana is obviously well versed in the history of Santa Fe but it's more than just a walk about town with a few notes about buildings and places. With Ana you learn about the people, experiences and events that shaped this unique place in America.
I'd compare the tour to listening to an enthralling podcast except you are living, breathing and experiencing it all in real time.
