I am writing to express my profound disappointment and frustration with the appalling customer service, fraudulent behavior, and outright racism I experienced at the Morrisville Restaurant Depot on 6/13. As a long-time customer, I am deeply disturbed by the events that transpired during my visit and feel compelled to warn others about the distasteful behavior exhibited by the staff.
I visited the depot with my associates to purchase essential cooking supplies for a major catering event scheduled for 6/14. The experience started smoothly until we reached the checkout. One of the barcodes was not working, so the cashier went to the back to get another code. The original item we selected was drumsticks, priced at $22. To our shock and dismay, the new code scanned at $118.40 for chicken tenders—a staggering x5 increase. Despite this dubious and deceitful price hike, we paid the amount but requested a re-check due to the significant impact on our budget.
During the re-check, the cashier realized the mistake and instructed us to go to the back to rectify the code and then return to the cashier for a refund. Following these instructions, we rectified the code and returned, only to be met with further hostility. The cashier refused to attend to us without making us get back in line, causing unnecessary stress and delays. To add insult to injury, the attendant lied, claiming that the replacement product was cheaper than the original. This level of dishonesty is unacceptable and highly unprofessional.
The situation escalated when the cashier accused me of trying to intimidate her, a baseless and offensive accusation. Even more egregiously, she made racist remarks about my associates' and my African accents, loudly stating that we were Africans and she could hear our accents. This blatant racism and xenophobia are not only unprofessional but also deeply hurtful and unacceptable in any setting, let alone a business that relies on customer satisfaction.
The attitude and behavior of the staff at this location are beyond reproach. Their actions were not only disrespectful but also discriminatory and fraudulent. As a loyal customer who has frequented Restaurant Depot for years, I am appalled by this treatment. We did not deserve such derogatory and humiliating treatment, and this experience has forced us to reconsider our patronage. I will be taking my business elsewhere and will advise others to do the same.
I urge Restaurant Depot to take immediate and decisive action to address this issue. Such behavior should not be tolerated, and steps must be taken to ensure that no other customer has to endure such an experience. Staff training on customer service, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity is desperately needed to prevent future occurrences of this nature. Until significant changes are made, I cannot, in good conscience, continue to support an establishment that allows such abhorrent behavior to go unchecked.
Update 6/27: You would find from new comments that this store keeps been fraudulent to thier customers, charging more than what is on the package. I now believe that this is an intentional...
Read moreStopped by to get 2 items they didnt have the other day today on the way to work, was running a little behind to open up my restaurant on time.(Small Business Owner) I got in a line with a few people in front of me was there 5 to 10 minutes lady then comes to direct two people to other lines never did she tell me anything. Comes back after maybe another 5 mins saying I needed to get in another line guy they had on register needed to get back on floor wasn't suppose to be on register ( so why is he there ) then you wait till you see someone with two items to close him down I asked can he simply scan my 2 items I already been in this line for a while, me thinking what's another minute or two going to hurt. She than pulled out a yellow caution/closed thing an blocked me off, she's not on register at all but randomly gets a guy that wasn't in line before me with 3 full carts an puts him in front of me an starts to check him out. Other lines were full an I was already in line for 10 plus minutes to go to another line an wait another 10 to 20 minutes wasn't ideal so I left the cart there an left the store, an to make things worse the lady screams something when I was already near the doors so everybody can hear so unprofessional, an me being late im not going to turn around an make a big scene that's not necessary an argue with someone who's going to act like they in elementary school that lady really needs some better training an to make things worse i think she's a manager there but sure doesn't act like it. I've been in management over 15 years an I would never treat my customers like that, you should go out your way to please the customer without us you wouldn't have your job remember that yeah I may be one simple customer compared to the amount of people you all have go in an out of there but if she's treating everyone like that you'll eventually lose customers an our hard earned money. I will be looking for my products elsewhere until I find better vendors you'll still see me but not alot of my hard earned money to unappreciated staff you have working for you all. I never leave any bad reviews cause I know how it is being a business owner but today she was really...
Read moreToday I went to do my shopping for my business. I quickly chose everything that I would take from this store. When I got to the cash register, I met this person who is supposed to be a cashier. You can see her name and her face Managers of Restoran Depot. When my turn to pay came, she looked at me for a few seconds with a worse face than the one you see there. Body language: sloping shoulders, slack hands, and a face that showed that being there working was a great pain for her. It was so unpleasant to see how forcibly she marked things with her red pen and how she scanned the codes with utter laziness and negligence. But yes! She was pending the conversation of her companions. It made me think that she could make a mistake in checking her merchandise, she seemed absent and little concentrated. She was not friendly and she never communicated any gesture of knowing what she was doing. Oh and not to mention the way she's dressed yet. It absolutely looked like her pajama clothes were worn to work. I do not pretend that she wears an office suit but at least that she takes her work and personal care seriously. Restaurant Depot and warehouse, transportation and ATM staff: thanks to the businessmen who come to this place every day to take our money, you have a job and a reason for being there, so everyone change your attitude. Well, absolutely nothing there, they all have the face of being so unhappy. So either this company's recruiting is failing or the current workforce is...
