If I was the supervisor of the employees at this DMV location, I would monitor their work closely because if the following reasons.
I saw online that they have a limited number of appointments for walk-ins everyday. I showed up at 8 am, at open, and went straight to the kiosk. The kiosk had no option for walk-ins even though I was one of the first to come in. I asked one of the ladies who works there and she said, "you have to have an appointment". I asked a series of questions, including "how do I get a walk-in appointment since there are a certain amount everyday reserved for walk-ins according to he website" and "if someone is a no-show for their appointment, do you take someone from the waiting area?"
She said, "the only way to see us is if you have an appointment", but there are no appointments available for 4 months.
According to the woman who sits in the very left desk when you walk into the office, you CANNOT get a license unless you have an appointment. No walk-in options at all. So what are they doing in the time when there is a no-show for an appointment? She recommended I go to the San Antonio main offices if I wanted to be a walk-in. My question is, if they can take walk-ins for the San Antonio offices, why don't they do that for the castroville office? She said it's because there are not enough employees at the castroville office, but again, if someone IS A NO SHOW for their appointment, do they just sit there and wait for the next appointment?? In the time that I was talking with her, she could have finished my license paperwork.
She also said that only one of the three women in the office issues licenses. According to her, the other two have different roles.
Is there a tracking system for employees to track no-shows and how many people were actually seen at the DMV? There were only 3 people in the waiting area while I was there, and only one of them had an appointment. I asked her if I wait in the waiting area, will they keep me in mind if there's an opening? She said, "i've had people wait in the lobby all day and not get seen." Seems like she is going out of her way to not help people that simply need to get a license. So what are these people doing all day?? Doesn't seem like they are serving the public and the supervisors of this DMV location should look into their work on a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely disgusting customer service. The 2 ladies that work the desks there should be fired as they do NOT know how to treat people. I witnessed both females talk disrespectful to a woman in military uniform who was trying to help a young lady obtain a new ID. From what I overheard, the young girl just joined and was given a short notice date to leave and could only get an appt several weeks out in San Antonio. The recruiter was trying to help her get one so she could enlist and leave. The girls told her "No. Recruiters think they can walk in here and get appts on the spot and that's not how it works. That's not our problem." The girl started crying and her recruiter calmly walked her out. I left too because imagine this being thir child, or even mine. What kind of customer service is that? No offer for a different location, to schedule an appt. They just mocked them and continued to trash talk them once they left. I hope management sees this because from what I witnessed today- this location does not support our troops and these girls are horrible with customer service overall. Make the drive. go to a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThey don't answer the phone locally or in Austin . If you want to be seen without delay as soon as you a paper from them in the mail , you'd better make an appointment. Even for licence renewal, and then you need to have the proper paperwork. I had my original birth certificate from the hospital and they won't accept it . So next you have your birth certificate from the county, state that you were born . If you need an i.d , you will need your birth certificate, social security number, two proofs of residency. If you don't have an appointment you are considered a walk in and put you on stand by . They take appointment people first . Those people trying to get an appointment today didn't get scheduled until next month . I was lucky I got in to renew my licence so I suggest you make an appointment especially if you need to renew otherwise you are driving with an expired licence then risk a ticket , plus taking the test over again just to drive . Also you won't have i.d to vote . I hope this information helps . Remember to make an appointment as soon...
