Fantastic seasonal green chile roaster operating in multiple locations around Denver. I frequent the spot at SW corner of Broncos Expwy and Parker Rd. They've been roasting chiles for years and the peppers are excellent! Very thick chiles with an easy-to-remove skin following a perfect roasting session. You can chose from Hatch green chiles of various heat levels as well as some other red chiles and even poblanos. Fantastic flavour to include in so much...or enjoy them as they are! They sell by the bushel and roast to order. When done, you'll take your chiles home in a heavy plastic bag, ready to peel skin and package. They have a nice selection of great salsa and other food items too. Great people,...
Read moreI have bought green chili from this place for years. I am from NM and always buy hatch. Went to the Southlands stand in Aurora to buy a basket. Asked for Mild cause I had already been to the one on Parker at and Arapahoe and bought a mix of medium and mild. The girl gave me all medium (and did not roast enough to peel)which is a lot hotter than usual. Now I needed more mild to offset all the hotter chili. Went to the one again at Parker and aArapahoe and got mild. Took 2 others with me and they spent a lot of money. I asked for a basket and got 1/2 of one. Still looking for a bushel of mild and now I need to go elsewhere to spend more cause I make a lot of green chili. Watch what they...
Read moreIf I could give this less than one star I would. Way over priced green chilis. No flavor on the Hatch medium and pueblo at all. Normally you can smell the chilis being roasted, no smell at all, first hint it wasn’t going to be good at all, but no let the guy taLk me into it. I paid 120 for 3 bushels.I should have walked away. I made green chili and no flavor, no heat! I feel ripped off. So now have to drive to tried and true places on federal and get what I am used to getting. Real Hatch green chilis. Never go here you will pay double...
