Dollar General — Local services in Center Point

I have never had an experience in a dg like I did last night.

Go to the self checkout and there's so teens getting several 12 packs of pop. I can't figure out what's taking so long.

So they get their receipt start leaving. Mention hey, I think you ring us up wrong. Then I noticed a short older gal. She tells them "well there's deposits on the cans". The kids tell her, no something wasn't rung up right". She hollered for another gal.

On the meantime, I grab my 2 paper plates and go to scan one.

The shorter gal comes up and gets after me. "No no. You're not allowed to use that". Took me aback. I say "I'm not allowed to use a self checkout "? She says no. Then proceeds to scan one item and hand it back to me. Grabs the next item hands it back to me. So I say, "do I get a bag or are we just handing things back and forth"?

So on to the plates. I had gotten 2 paper plates. 14 a piece. She couldn't get the 2nd one to ring up. So I'm like, can't you just scan the 1st one. She says no it has to be the same thing. I say "it is. The upc is the same" for an identical item". She says no.

So she finally double checked the identical paper plates had the same upc and scanned the first one.

That was ridiculous and should be terribly embarrassing for the company. It's a town of 1,000.

We went to the gas station for a while and came back around. Those kids were just leaving. I can't imagine how long they were...

LOVE THIS DOLLAR GENERAL. I live in Vinton and drive the 15 min to this DG because they are bigger, have more variety, in terms of clothing, shoes, health and beauty, garden, well everything.
