I have been to this establishment twice. The first time was simply for an oil change. And that went smoothly enough. I had asked them to make sure all the steering components were greased as well and as far as I could tell that was not addressed at all. The second time, I needed a wheel alignment after replacing some steering components myself. The steering alignment seems to be fine. I had stripped some threads on the lower control arm when I was replacing the outer sway rod bushings. I fasted the shop if they could just start with retapping the hole and putting a fresh bolt in, but instead they took the prerogative to weld in a bolt themselves. I was told at the store there was a 1/16â gap now, but I measure it at just over 1/4â. And this welding a bolt in place of the threads cost me 165$ for an hours labor and I canât quite figure out why. I suppose it works, but if I was going to ruin the lower control arm anyway, why wouldnât I have just welded the plate flat to the control arm? I also wouldâve liked them to call me and confirm a plan of action before welding, but they did not. I suppose the cost of labor is outrageous nowadays. I do similar labor (welding farm equipment) professionally and make 24$/hr, but when I go to another shop that should specialize in more automotive applications, it costs me 7 times as much. Câest la vie. So it goes
EDIT: The second photo is after I cut the bolt out and welded the bracket straight to the lower control arm. It took about 30 minutes in total. Now the gap is actually just...
Read moreI really liked taking my car to these guys. As soon as it came to my warranty and THEM having to deal with it Rod was rude to me. I was told "we don't usually have anything to do with that the customer usually does that. You need to tell us first next time." I said I did. He states "oh and who did you tell this too?" I said I don't know but I told whoever 3 weeks ago when I first called." I know this because I told them " there is anew coolant that they won't cover and the hoses aren't covered." I was told 3 weeks ago that " anything older than 201718 doesn't usually take the new coolant." Sorry YOU made a mistake and that you are upset...
Read moreIâm not a certified mechanic. I am experienced at turning wrenches, in other words I know when shops are clearly trying to take advantage of someone that would be clueless. They gave me a list of the parts that were supposed to be an issue and a dollar amount of $2000 to $4000. After my son got the vehicle home I inspected the list of their concerns. I was very disappointed in what they call needs replaced. I hope you have a rebuttal. I will take pictures if you need proof. I donât want my money back. The experience taught my son what to look for in a reliable and...
