Independent Club — Restaurant in Central City

The food is really good BUT for $6.25 at a bar… the portions of the appetizers should be much larger. If you get the Mac & cheese bites, you only get 6 and they are not large pieces to accommodate for that pricing so you’re paying $1+ a bite. Corn nuggets, you get a few more. The mushrooms had the closest to an appropriate portion. If you’re gonna hand me a basket of food bites though for $6.25, it better be FULL and not a kids portions laying sadly on the bottom. I ordered all 3 thinking it would be plenty for 4 people to share. It was not and was very disappointing. Every bar I have ever been in has always had good food and awesome portions. One of the best places in Central City. We always encourage our guests that stay in the Airbnb to swing in and get a couple drinks at the Indy. It’s also one of the oldest establishments still in existence in CC. The owners, Larry and Joyce Petersen, constantly host fundraisers for everybody in the community. In addition, they are the type of people who take you in and treat you like family. During the summer months, you can join their volleyball league or their cornhole leagues.
