Karns Foods — Local services in Centre Township

Stopped on AUGUST 8 2022 to check out the beer selection. Ended up purchasing around $150.00 worth of beer which required multiple trips in and out of store. I did not mind because it's the law and the employees were helpful.

Problem was I made the mistake of not checking the dates on boxes, Troegs in particular, which the store had in three different places in the beer area. Some in cooler, some on shelf, and an entire endcap.

12 pack Troegs Haze Charmer cans Freshest By JULY 1 2022 over a full month past the best by date. It was very flat and bland but was not willing to drive back 40 minutes to return it.

12 pack Troegs Summer anthology bottles couldn't find date on box but the bottle were dated Freshest By July 29 2022 over a week past the date. The Perpetual(3 bottles) was Ok but others were not good at all.

If the beer is past the date it should be put on a 50% off clearance rack or poured down the drain. I won't be going back to Karn's for beer or anything else in New Bloomfield unless I am given...

This Friday June 11.11:30AM. I AM AT KARNS,NEWBLOOMSFIELD. No ham and cheese subs made.This is the 3rd time in 3 weeks. First time the Mgr had them made while I shopped. Second time same story. This last time the Mgr.wasn't in,when I asked for 2 subs,one of the 4 ppl told another one to make them. My husband stood waiting for 15 minutes,no they weren't busy we were the only ppl at the deli. I checked out over 200.00 of food and still my man is waiting for 2 subs.The Mgr.up front,went back and got me the slips,so I could pay but we still waited.She then asked the Mgr.of the whole store to talk to me.HE SAID,I AM BUSY AS HE WALKED AWAY FROM ME. So the ending was, ,I was given 5.00 off my next purchase of 35.00.And this was given to me by the front end Mgr. True...

Not real happy about the guy at the meat counter not being forthcoming on the sale price. The tiny print I did not see for the minimum amount you need to buy to get that deal. I essentially paid for double what I got. Not cool meat guy! 😑 Could have had the courtesy to point it out because your signage is not great! I'm not happy at all about that. Otherwise, Very nice to have a real grocery store nearby with enough stock to get by. Their prices are a bit high on some things, more comparable to Giant, and the only reason I have 4 stars instead of five but that's getting to be everywhere, Even Walmart. Appreciate the cleanliness and full shelves in this store. Staff always seem pleasant...
