A cautionary tale to future clients who are thinking of getting their hair done here: my friend got her hair done here and suffered notoriously after. 💀

I normally don't leave scathing reviews like this as I am well aware at how difficult it can be to color hair and get it looking exactly like the reference photos. However, in this situation I felt deeply compelled to leave a review to warn others. A woman's hair is everything and I would hate for someone else to have to go through the same thing my friend did. 😭

She asked for a similar style to the fourth photo I have attached (the reference photo) and was comforted by the hair stylist's quick reply in confidence and enthusiasm at being able to achieve the look. She left the salon looking like a middle-schooler who just discovered what bleach is... With the money and time that was put in, you would've at least expected the bleach to be blended in... however, as you can see in the three photos- she left with insane streaks and choppy coloring. She would've been in better hands if a middle-schooler had actually done her hair. The main issue is that when I went with my friend to complain to the stylist- he was immediately trying to put the blame on the simple fact that my friend had not "asked for highlights"..... which is insane to say because the reference photo she showed him clearly has highlights 😒 When we brought up the reference photo and showed it to him, he even had the audacity to say that my friend had not shown him that photo.... Did he look at her phone with his eyes closed???

No sense of consideration, no sense of apology towards the time wasted and emotional distress that was caused; all in all- just a man assuming he's done the best work and not being able to handle criticism when it's rightfully due. Would never recommend his...

I've been using Moonhair for several years now, mainly for bleaching and dyeing, and he is an incredibly honest and straightforward designer. I've had experiences with other salons where I requested a unique color that required bleaching more than five times. The designer, disregarding the condition of my hair, insisted it was possible. After about three bleaching sessions, my hair started breaking off, and I couldn't even dye it, let alone bleach it further. As someone who frequently bleaches their hair, I'm familiar with the additional costs with each bleaching session, but I ended up paying for three sessions and getting a mess of hair as a result.

However, Mr. Moon always assesses the condition of my hair before starting the bleaching process and estimates how many sessions are possible. He always informs me whether the color I want is achievable, suggests alternative colors if necessary, and provides excellent shampoo massage services, which I prefer. When considering dyeing, I highly recommend this salon. In comparison to other salons, the price for bleaching was average, and although I didn't inquire about the brand of bleach used, it was less harsh compared to other salons. Mr Moon had been cutting my hair for over 2 years now, and I have nothing but great things to say about him. He’s very kind, always welcoming and most of all he’s a very talented hairstylist/barber. He pays very close attention to detail to your hair and is probably the most precise barber I’ve ever had. For the longest time I’ve been trying to tell him to make an Instagram or a portfolio for his haircuts because every time I get mine done from him, I leave feeling so fresh and the compliments I get from my friends and family are always great.
