Sky Mountain Resort does not disappoint! This is our third year here and Bill & Julia continue doing an excellent job of maintaining and improving the park. The root beer float social and the band that performed the following night were a hit! Plenty of campsite options including by the gently flowing river. Hummingbirds flitter and sing around and if you’re watchful you may see deer gracefully walking through the nearby woods and occasionally through the park. The shower and restroom facilities always have that just been cleaned appearance. If you need groceries or supplies the town of Chama is just a short drive away. Chama also offers several little shops, diners, and cafes. There are many activities and sights around the area but the BEST view is right there in the park. After the sun sets the Milky Way and the stars are so bright and clear that you feel like you can touch the sky! A+++++

We expressed our concern about a canopy our neighbor put up. It was very close to our Rv and we were afraid the wind would blow it into our rig. The owner said it could stay, because the neighbor has insurance! It got worse from there. We were threatened if I posted pictures of the 2RVs and canopy. We were harassed. We left that day of our own doing not because he told us to leave. On the way out the owner stopped me in my vehicle waiting for my husband to come around with the motorhome. He again threatened me, when I rolled the window up he slapped my car door and yelled some more. Then he stopped my husband in the motorhome and threatened him, too. This is after we had checked out of the office and were in the process of leaving the park!! We have been RVing for about 45 years and this is a first for us, never have we been treated this bad anyplace we have gone. We are full time RVers.

We stayed 8 nights on spot 6 along the river and it was amazing! Bill and Julia are the owners and they are the best! You can fish in the river or just enjoy the soothing sounds from your camper. There are 10 or less river side spots which are big enough for large motor homes. The tree canopy spaces are nice too. The laundry area AVS bathrooms were closed due to Covid. The gated area for dogs was nice. We did use bug spray often due to mosquitoes. It is a short drive to town to the grocery store. Chama is a cute but very small town. We could have easily stayed a month here! Many of the people we talked to have been coming to this campground for years. We will return!

We have had this reservation for months and were excited to enjoy our stay. Our trip was multi-purpose. My wife was attending a weaving class in Chama and we were visiting family that we see once a year. Things started off smooth... until Bill the owner started monitoring our every move. The only complaints that were on us is that our small Chihuahua ran out of the camper door and barked at another camping neighbor who was walking her dog one time and a family member that stopped to visit for the day did not get a visitors pass. We were under constant scrutiny and constant surveillance by Bill. About half way through our stay he really crossed the line. While showering in the shower house Bill came in and approached my 11 year old nephew, grilling him with questions and making him very uncomfortable. When I heard someone talking to my nephew I came out of my shower stall to see who was hassling him in the bathroom. Bill proceeded to question me about who the "girl" riding the bike that was coming and going from the RV park was. I explained to him that it was my wife. His response, "that's your wife, she looks like a kid. Good on you." Incidentally she was riding her bike to and from her weaving class. He was literally watching every move we made. After letting him know my disappointment in the way we had been treated he said, "make sure you don't come back!" So we are packing up and trying to find another place to finish our stay. Hopefully somewhere that is relaxing. They should change the name to 'Spy Ranch' instead of Sky Ranch or at least put up barbed wire so it feels more like the type of camp it is! If you stay here be prepared to be monitored and watched, hopefully not while you are in the...

We were very excited about going to this Park for the first time this week with our RV club, no name. We called to see if we could arrive a day early, only to find out that not only could we not arrive a day early, but also that the site we reserved after viewing the online map of the park and confirmed by email a month before arrival, had been given to another party in our club because theirs wasn't as nice and they too were at the last minute coming up early. Bill the owner would not tell us the reason or facts about who was taking our requested space and was very rude about it citing a policy quoted in their email saying " they had the right to move anyone for any reason but would try to get a comparable space". This ordinarily would have been ok. All we expected was a courtesy call to let us know the change We had selected the space for certain reasons related to our two small dogs and shade from the tree canopy. Our wagon master also saw no need to notify us he was taking our selected spot. All the owners said was they could do it because it said so in the email. No consideration or courtesy given us. So we cancelled our reservation and will probably not be going back, ever. There are too many nice campgrounds in the State such as Pendaries RV campground near Rociada, NM. At least we didn't spend hundreds in fuel just to get angry when we got there and found out we had been mistreated like this. Don't go expecting a specific site even though you reserved it, it probably won't be there when you arrive. BTW the pictures on this site are deceiving in that half of the spaces are a dirt parking lot with no tree cover. That's...

I have nothing bad to say about the facility it is very nice and well kept up. The issue I had was with I assume the owner my son and I where passing thru and wanted to just drive thru the grounds and take a quick look to possibly make some reservations. We normally dry camp but thought it would be nice to have hook ups. When we arrived we were met at the entrance by an older gentleman asking if we were staying there I explained my request and he hesitantly said ok that he would get me a visitors pass. When the gentleman returned he was a but aggressive and continued to tell me he didn't want any partying going on its quite and he plans on keeping it that way. I explained that it wasn't my intention to "party" but he kept on with the lecture. I feel it was both rude and extremely judgemental not to mention stereotyping us. I will not be staying here with family and due the judgemental behavior I don't recommend you do either. We went next door to down home lodge and rv park and they were amazing and helpful. We will be...
