I recently visited the Target Champlin location and am very disappointed and concerned with the level of service I received. I placed an online order for pickup, expecting a wait of about five or so minutes, as is typical with online orders. However, after being approached by an employee named Alvin, he initially brought the wrong order to my car. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. Alvin took the incorrect items back and said he would be right back.
To my frustration, it took him over 30 minutes to return with the correct order. I ended up waiting for a total of 35 or so minutes, which was incredibly inconvenient and just unacceptable. This delay cost me time I could have spent with my family and making dinner, which was very upsetting. As someone whom worked in service for 7 years, I acknowledge that mistakes happen. That was as far from ideal as could be though, having us wait over thirty minutes for an order of 15 or so items.
To make matters worse however, when I got home and checked the groceries, I found that five out of 15 or so items were incorrect, and not to mention that the packaging was poorly handled too. Items were squished and not properly organized; damaged and in poor shape. This indicates a lack of care in preparing and handling the order.
I attempted to resolve all of this by calling their customer service. I spoke with a representative at first, expressing my dissatisfaction, and requested to speak to a manager. I was put on hold for 10 minutes, after which the call was disconnected. Subsequent attempts to reach customer service resulted in no resolution as I was unable to get through.
This experience was extremely frustrating, and I am appalled by the level of service provided. I would like to make it clear that this is not acceptable and needs to...
Read moreThis is a good target location but as pointed out it isn't the best yet. Check out can be longer than other locations, but it doesn't appear to be for a lack of staff, it just seems like a lack of dedicated front end staff. It is not uncommon for there to be 1 or 2 people cashiering and both the self check outs are closed. (I only use those if I have a couple items) Staff told me they have to close it if someone can't supervise it for theft reasons, which is understandable but at the hourly wage they get paid I'd think this location could afford another front end person to make self checkout is always open so smaller orders can go through faster.
Not a huge deal for me but the grumbling in line relates largely to it.
Now normally the staff is super helpful and they have different things than the other Target I go to. The only down side is it seems a little less organized on the layout, this isn't the staff's fault this seems like a corporate logistical issue.
Out of all the Targets I've been to this one has had the most issues with their cartwheels. Their guest services is really nice but I'm not sure if it is their computers there or what but I pretty much expect if I have a cartwheel that I might have to go to guest services now.
Anyway, staff is really nice and it isn't as crowded as the Maple Grove location. It really feels like a little more cashier staff and some logistical or computer upgrades for this location...
Read moreI have been ordering cakes from target for about 10 years. From Blaine mainly, but have ordered from fridley a couple times as well. Recently wanted to order closer to home so called the champlin bakery. After many attempts (no one was answering phone) I finally got ahold of someone in the bakery department. They answered the phone with "bakery" -yes, hi I'd like to order a cake. -ok (silence....) -ok...are you ready? Baby -(silence again) yeah... I proceed to order because I already know the little book (menu) order by now so I said what I wanted. But if I were a new customer I would have no clue what to order since the person didn't ask name (to start with) or even phone number. Then no questions of type of cake or anything at all. Very unsettling actually to have someone so bad at customer service BASICS. Finally I picked up a few days later and had to stand there a couple of minutes before the decorator acknowledged I was standing there. Again no "hi can I help you?" Or "hello I'll be right with you" She just stared like I was walking into her private space or something. I could bet it was the same employee that "took my order" over the phone. Probably will keep ordering from...
