My 7 year old planned a Valentines Date for him and I because my husband was working. He choose batting cages and pizza. We decided to go to Pizza Ranch for the first time. Figured it wouldn’t be too busy at 7:45 on Valentines night. I was right! Waited for 2–3 minutes for the girl to check us in and allow us to pay. Told her we never been here, expecting her to be courteous and explain what to do, where to go where the bathrooms were, etc. So we navigated to find a table. The place was not busy yet EVERY table was dirty and had crumbs and food had been sitting at the buffet. Went to the bathroom and the women’s toilet was gross. Toilet paper all over the bathroom stalls, soap and water all over the floor and counters. Then we were eating and my son spilled his soda. I immediately started to clean up and asked my son to get an employee to get a towel. The teenage employee game him ONE SHEET OF PAPER TOWEL. I cleaned it up for him. No one came to check on us until they asked, are you still eating the buffet (at 8:10)? I said yes, of course we are. The place says it’s open until 9pm! The DOOR says it is open until 9 pm. NO WHERE did it say, buffet closed at 8pm. It was not until I asked about the dessert pizza that the unpleasant girl who checked us in said, well we close the buffet at 8. At which point my son and I packed up and was ready to leave! This was a HORRIBLE experience. The food was not good and we were not welcomed! They came by to pick up my plate with soap all over their hands! I cannot handle horrible service. You can tell the ONLY good time to try to come is when lots of people are here. Because the pizza was not good and not was the service. No one offered to get the manager and or tell them to talk to us. So I asked for the owners card on the way out. THEN AND ONLY THEN, did I see a manager. He heard me out and apologized and then refunded my purchase. The main reason they get 2 stars. THAT was the only thing that went right about the night. We were still hungry and frustrated and can honestly say we will...
Read moreEverything is usual is above board. I used to go to a Pizza Ranch, actually 3 different Pizza ranches in Wisconsin . . . Sadly, I'm not going in that direction anymore, and this champlin location (Which has my first place rating in Minnesota... And I have, I believe, I have no less than 4 P.R. locations conveniently within 20 to 25 minutes) ~Again thisChamplin location was always my second most favorite and now 1st favorite ☺️quality restaurant location just 8 minutes from my home and I no longer have to drive 233 miles to my previously favorite Pizza Ranch that one in particular in Reedsburg Wisconsin had a management concern that eventually caused me to turn away .
That previously favorite location (of which once I even left a $50.00 bill in their tip container) directly because of a particularly quite Gruff and stodgy assistant manager who recieved errant information, to which I CLEARLY the next time I passed through explained the errant info, of which she said she understood my explanation. (With the COMPLETLY incorrect information, they threatened myself With being 'banned' from the restaurant. ~The head manager was even more terse ! I first discovered Pizza Ranch many years ago and a little tiny town in Iowa called Haywarden Iowa where my cousins and relatives Had a Farm. I thought it was just a small town operation and I was pleased to find out that you guys have vastly expanded and that was not your first restaurant but my first experience and I look forward to going back there because I know it's still in business and they will also get my high...
Read moreJust went to the Pizza Ranch Champlin location on a Tuesday early afternoon. Overall, it was a solid 4 star experience. The service was very friendly, dirty plates were promptly picked up, and food was regularly replaced. 5 star service. The food that was available looked fresh and was good. The biggest downside is the limited selection of food. This is definitely not a traditional buffet. Your choices for entree are just pizza and fried chicken, with a decent selection of sides (mash potatoes, fries, corn, salad, etc) and small selection of desserts. I didnt mind the small selection, but some picky eaters might, if they didnt know what to expect. They specialize in pizza, obviously, and had good variety. Honestly, I didnt taste anything amazing and nothing compared to a typical delivery pizza, like Papa Johns. But again, I wasnt expecting that, either. This is all about value, and I got my moneys worth in value. My kids had no complaints (typical pizza and fries eaters), and they really liked that they could go into the decent sized game area, play some games, and then return to the dining area for seconds. My only recommendaiton would be to add another entree option (maybe something like hot dogs). I wouldnt come here without kids. But if I have my kids with me, then this is a very solid...
