UPDATE-
This WAS one of my favorite places to shop. Every two weeks I visited Shoppers - dropping several hundred dollars on feed or things I needed for my animals. Recently, my husband stopped in to return an item I had purchased for my sonās pony that didnāt fit. I realized that due to the fact that I had forgotten to return it within thirty days - Iād probably only receive a store credit. When my husband tried to return the item (that still had the tags on it) the associate told him that it was used and it couldnāt be returned. The manager was called and reiterated what the front desk clerk had said - āusedā and not returnable. Honestly - we were both sort of shocked. I called in and talked to the manager who basically told me there was nothing he could do and to come in and talk to the main boss. I returned to the store and spoke with another front desk person who told me she didnāt understand what the problem was and didnāt consider it in used condition at all. She agreed to return it and did so with the assistance of another manager. To the associate that finally listened, thank you for your help and advocating for the customer. Her peer however - that wasnāt directly helping me but nearby was extremely rude and unhelpful.
This has to be the most bizarre and frustrating experience Iāve ever had returning an item to a retailer. I shop here all the time and rarely return things. Apparently Shoppers definition of āusedā and mine are drastically different. To me - used means removing the tags, using an item multiple times and then attempting to return it the store. Rather than, trying something on your horse once, realizing itās not the right fit and trying to return it - tags intact. This whole experience rubbed me the wrong way and the most frustrating part was being told by more than one person that my item was used - which is really no different than calling me a liar. I get it people are cheap and probably attempt to return used items on a regular basis but this was absolutely not the case here. My purchases from this store 1000% outweigh my returns. The snarky attitude I received from an associate that told me to ārelaxā when I vocalized that my item wasnāt used is completely unnecessary and unprofessional. Ive been shopping here since I moved to Arizona three years ago - and sadly it only takes one experience like this to ruin it for a customer. Iāve always been an advocate of shopping local but this pretty much did it for me. Even though they returned it, it took three times and a whole lot of attitude. Itās evident that Shoppers Supply doesnāt care about their regular customerās business. Iāll be giving my feed business to Higley Feeds and anything else I would typically purchase here I can easily find online or through Amazon.
Iāve attached a picture of the item for reference. Tags still on it and in new condition.
This is one of my favorite places to shop! They have everything - from clothes to home decor to animal feed and ammunition and firearms. The folks in the feed department are really helpful and willing to order any type of horse feed if they don't have...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNoās terrible which weāve already established so now I decide OK Iām gonna get the desert colored boots first responders theyāre $129.99 so I put them on and head to the register. No since the first responder boots are like a microfiber/I donāt know like cloth kinda I donāt know and I was looking for like a water repellent. I couldnāt find any for boots, but I did see a water repellent that is used I guess some cowboy hat it was called felt hat, water, repellent spray so I was like that might work. It hasnāt at the register I asked the so-called manager is black guy. I didnāt get his name. Hey do you think this would work for these boots and he said I mean that belt spray no they have a boot creams and stuff and I said the boots are microfiber and like a cloth so canāt use a cream it would ruin them and he was confused. He opened the box and I had my old boots in there and he said well itāll work. I said Iām wearing a new ones oh oh giggle and said I donāt know. So now at this point, I am very frustrated and irritated, and the manager of the black guy says let me call this other girl sheāll know so the black guy manager tells the girl behind the desk. Hey, can you call so-and-so again? I didnāt get her name she comes up and I say hey will this work for these boots and I point to the ones Iām wearing which are the new ones she says oh thereās a repellent boot cream over there, and I said you do understand like I told him it will ruin these boots. Theyāre not leather so she grabs her chin with her right hand and stinking and I said so do you think the felt spray for cowboy hats will work still holding her chin like sheās thinking and I finally say you know what never mind Iāll go to boot barn and buy their water repellent boot spray. All three of them said yeah thatās a good idea. Now I am a veteran like I explained earlier and I asked do you do military discounts yeah just the first Tuesday of every month and I said OK which I understand but Iām a combat that and itās extremely frustrating that you only get a discount for serving your country on one day a month so whatever Iām frustrated they can tell Iām frustrated. They donāt try to help me at all and literally Iāve never met free people that work at a store that donāt know anything about the products that is crazy to me, but I love shoppers supply and now I have a bad taste in my mouth because of this specific location. I just wanted to make sure I let whomever know that this was my interaction today. I was there for over an hour trying to send pictures trying to ask for help. They didnāt even know how to measure your foot for a boot. Either way I would really really really appreciate if you guys would spend some time training, your staff, especially the manager that knew nothing and was talking crap about my Verizon phone not working. I hope you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went here with my boyfriend for riding boots and an equestrian helmet. I was excited and expected a great experience because the trainer at my stable highly recommended this place. We were completely ignored by the staff but I assumed that it was just a slow Sunday and they were pre-occupied. I'm not picky or needy, so I just asked for help getting the right shoe size then asked to get pointed in the direction of the equestrian helmets. The girl who was sent to help us just rushed through it and barely even made eye contact. She walked away from us as soon as she could. That's fine. I again just assumed she was very busy. We went to look at the helmets and started trying to figure out the right size.
I guess the staff was too busy to help us but apparently had enough free time to watch us like we were trying to shoplift. We did nothing to indicate that we would try to steal anything. I only wanted to find the right helmet size. I'd have happily asked for help if just one of the store workers would have had enough respect to at least approach or make eye contact with me. I don't know what we did wrong. Was it that we were too young? That we had some tattoos? I'm honestly very offended. Never in my life have I been ignored like that or treated with such suspicion. I'm always very kind and accommodating to store workers and wouldn't dream of being rude or stealing. I just wanted boots and a helmet in the right size. We even had to stand and wait at the register for an uncomfortable amount of time as the two girls up there just stood there not making eye contact. I am honestly not one to complain but this left a seriously bad taste in my mouth after having been so excited to get my first pair of riding...
