Extremely disappointed just like the previous review. First problem is the classes have way too many kids. The lessons start 5-10 minutes late. They spend another 5-10 minutes running around I guess warming up the kids or to me just wasting time. When the instruction finally begins its clear most of the coaches haven't ever played soccer before, which wouldn't be a problem if they had a lesson plan to go by. They walk around with a clip board, but its clear they have nothing planned. The director has helped once with one class, but hasn't been around for any of the other sessions to even see whats going wrong. They give no one on one instruction. So one kid will just be standing still confused while others are dribbling around. They don't take the time to correct or assist any of the kids. They aren't shown how to pass with the inside of their foot, what part of the foot to shoot with, how to roll the ball etc. Just basic skills these kids need at this age. The kids stand in long lines waiting to pass the ball maybe once and then shoot on a goal just to go stand in line again. Because of the young ages of most of the kids, they can't pass the ball easily to each other so its just a mess and they get nothing out of it. As I mentioned before they aren't even shown how to pass the ball. When it does come time to scrimmage the advertised 4 v 4 with no goalies becomes 7 v 7 or 8 v 8 with kids standing in the goal and the coaches attempting to have kids play defense, midfield and offense. On more than one occasion the kids get so bored they sit down during the scrimmage. They have more than enough space to split each class in half, but the coaches would rather screw around then actually instruct these kids. Last week one coach spent 10 minutes pumping up balls during class. Seriously why wouldn't this have been done prior to class? I get this is for fun and to introduce the kids to soccer, but they aren't even introducing the basics or what is advertised on the website in regards to the scrimmages. Overall this has been a terrible experience and our first and last time having our kids participate in...
Read moreThe overall impression is average. It's confusing when you walk in and there is a dry erase board with your team and court number, the just above it, a screen with team information completely different of what is below. The courts need some help though. The players don't know which lines are which because on some courts there are white lines and blue lines. It should be the same everywhere. My daughter has played volleyball here for two years and today I witnessed something which bothers me to the core. 20 minutes before her game, she and most of her teammates along with some adults were playing a game when a gentleman approaches the court and YELLS at everyone to get off the court. Other parents along with myself watching this happen we're astonished he'd talk like this to kids. It's not like the other team was there and couldn't warmup because of the game especially since nobody from the other team was there for another 10 minutes Once the other team arrived, some of the girls were bumping the ball in a circle and this same gentlemen approaches these girls and YELLS at them for not warming up the correct way. Again other parents and myself were shocked he did this again. At no time in the game we're girls out of rotation but this same gentleman felt the need to stop the game and give his two cents. Our coach was doing a different type of rotation he didn't know and he stopped the game, really? Then the same gentleman decides to talk to our coach about the situation while the game was still going on. The coach missed at least ten points and our girls lost. The other team played really well, taking nothing from them but this was totally uncalled for in the middle of a game. Sadly, the person who did this is Tim Leary, the director of this facility. He should be embarrassed by his actions, lack of professionalism and lack of tact. He should apologize to the Stingray players, their coach and...
Read moreThis was definitely a different environment than what our team has been exposed to. Parking is horrendous. Maybe 2 handicap spots otherwise you're walking. There are only bleachers provided to one area, bring your own chair. It is crammed packed with people with zero personal space. The bathroom was worse than a "wrong turn" gas station bathroom in the middle of no where. It smelled like a urinal and was a total mess and very small. We were all of the opinion that the place was trash. The one guy taking money at the door was so engaged in cutting up with other people a young lady had to loud get his attention to take my money to get in. I don't have a choice where tournament venues are held but I hope we never have to play here again. They have glass at the bottom of the wall to floor next (while I did appreciate the nets) the glass was extremely unfortunate for athletes sliding across the floor and slamming heads and shoulders into them. There is a reason you have to sign a waiver for this venue. It is not safe for players. Hittimg the floor is one thing but slamming into thick solid glass hitting heads and shoulders is extremely dangerous. This should be unacceptable. It'd get zero stars if that...
