Fort Benning Commissary — Local services in Chattahoochee County

I have been with this Bank for over a decade. Ever since I was a 17 year old new infantry recruit in Fort Benning Georgia. They have been there for me anytime I needed help. Wether it was with a financial issue or managing my financial issues. Or because for some unknown reason I'm truly terrible with money.🤔😂 For years after I got out of the service I didn't lived around any of my banks branches. And people would always tell me "'If you don't live near your bank. You really need to switch Banks. So you can get one that's local or at least closer." But because of the stellar service and their never ending goal for complete customer satisfaction. I have flat refused to close my account. I would like to make an honorable mention of the employee who has time and time again went above and beyond for me. He has personally help my family and I anytime I ever called and needed help or something done with my account. He has been with me through everything. From every duty station, all of my children's birth, buying different cars, and moving into new houses. And helping me anyway he can and I'm pretty sure if the bank didn't frown upon it. He would personally try to help me out with whatever my family and I needed out of his own pocket. If he possibly could. He is awesome and I can never thank him enough. Mr. Will grant has made made my entire 14 plus years as a customer with this Bank positive and very special. I know it's cliche for a business to say that they're more like your best friend or family. Not just a bank but I truly believe that Mr. Will grant is more then just my bank manager. We've been here since May 2017 (8 years at the writing of this review) and while we've used the Commissary as our mainstay of shopping, this is slowly changing even though it's significantly closer than any other place to shop (we live on post within three miles of the Commissary).

We have had a lot of issues with dairy. From milk that is spoiled even though it's well before the expiration date, to milk past the expiration being the only thing available, to being out of stock of items (particularly our favorite flavors of ice cream) while having a ton of every other flavor. The person in charge of the dairy section is doing a horrible job, especially in the last two years.

Produce has gone downhill. We used to buy all of our produce at the Commissary. Now we buy about 50% of our produce at the Commissary and it's usually after we go to Aldi's so it's whatever Aldi's doesn't have.

The stock of various other items has been hit or miss. Spices, canned goods, baking goods, etc....

When we first got here in 2017 I would have rated the Commissary 4.5/5 stars. At that point we had been in the military since 1994 so we'd seen quite a few commissaries along the way and we felt it was really good. Maybe the 'newness' wore off or maybe it's just gone downhill really far because right now it's a 2/5 and we do a lot of our grocery...

This has been the worst commissary I have ever been too. I can count how many times, I have seen employees putting out “new produce” that was already bad. I’ve have overheard customers questioning the employees why they are putting out bad produce, but the employees keep going about their work. I feel like you see mostly non active duty here shopping, so it can stay pretty busy most of the time. The freezers are not that cold compared to places like Walmart in my opinion, so the food can feel lukewarm. Not the best customer service compared to other commissaries I have been too. It’s hard to get a genuine greeting and smile out of people out here. I don’t understand why they don’t have a tip jar at checkout for the baggers like other commissaries normally do. I never really know which bagger to give the tip too, so it feels awkward. They don’t tie your bags off, so your food spills out more easily. Self checkout tends to have long lines. The sidewalk sale is not the best compared to other commissaries as well. The meat prices are good,...
