The staff at this shelter didn’t just mistreat me with bias.. their actions showed malice. One staff member actively worked to sabotage my community ties and access to support for weeks after I had already left the shelter.

It’s one thing to personally dislike me, but it’s another to weaponize professional positions and reach into my life to cut off help. Staff were furious because my “education didn’t match my income,” and because I stood firmly on boundaries for myself and my children. In response, confidentiality was broken with volunteers, my name was slandered, and I was pressured into assessments and releases under threat of consequences.

The most painful part was having my postpartum depression which I disclosed while asking for support... twisted and used as “proof” that I was wrong, unstable, and crazy instead of treated with compassion.

If there were true accountability, some staff would not hold licenses. Instead, I’m left to trust that the universe delivers justice I may never see. Woman in crisis deserve safety, dignity, and honesty not exploitation, retaliation, and...

It was a satisfactory experience at the Chattanooga room inn, although I did not receive assistance with rent as promised, which may have been an oversight, but I have my doubts. I have secured an apartment, but I am still struggling, and I hope to have a normal life soon; nonetheless, I appreciate the help I received during my stay. The landlord stated that they did pay the rent deposit and security deposit, clarifying that the shelter did.sorry for any confusion...

I loved the third shift training. The lady that trained me was so nice. Couldn't stay and work as a floater but I really care about families being safe and becoming self sufficient . I pray they get help with Hvac units to help keep the shelter cool or donations to...
