So, this morning coming out of the hotel in Chattanooga, we found two great places right next to each other. We stopped not knowing what to expect and we were very pleasantly surprised. The first place was Mad Priest Coffee house attended by Liz Sindler. Let me tell you, not only is she very friendly, the coffee is delicious. . I strongly recommend this coffee shop to all coffee lovers.
And if you want a good donut, go right next door to Koch's Bakery where we purchased the best donuts that I have tried. We got the blueberry and coconut, chocolate glazed and plain donut. Let me tell you, amazing!! We are just traveling through Chattanooga and I made the mistake of thinking that I was not going to find anything nice. I was completely wrong, not only were the donuts & coffee great, but the people were very nice and friendly. Next, on the way to the Battle for Chattanooga, we found a soap company right on Broad St, Good Fortune Soap & Spa. My wife loved it! More people need to know about this place. Chattanooga is not only historical, but the people who are venturing into small businesses deserve to succeed. I am doing my part, now you do yours and go to Koch's bakery and next door is Mad Priest Coffee Roasters, both small but deserving...
Read moreI decided to drop by and grab a coffee when googling coffee shops in Chattanooga. I wasn't sure based on the pictures of they had food or not and decided to see for myself.
The short is they don't really offer much from the food department, but they have great pastries and a "symbiotic" relationship with the donut shop next door.
I decided to have my coffee on site and I will note this is more of a takeaway, as it's very small. The coffee is fantastic and the lovely sourced pastries are also on point, but if you're looking to sit down and enjoy a coffee and snack there are only two seats to choose from. If you're lucky like me you will be able to do so, but otherwise you'll have to grab and go.
I got the brown sugar latte as they made their brown sugar syrup in house. It was delicious, on the sweeter side which was expected and appreciated.
Both the baristas were wonderful and polite. They made me feel welcome and happy that I happened to...
Read moreI love their Dark Night (dark roast) coffee. It was a "dark night of the soul...A very long dark night..." -St. John of God said so . His picture is on Mad Priest's wonderful bag of Dark Night. Pick up, from friendly Mr. "T," a bag or a fresh cup on Market near 23rd.
And don't forget to treat yourself to a fresh dark chocolate (2 different flavors) scone. Also, it's free parking and in good weather, like today, a sidewalk bench to watch the world go by, and summer shade trees on Market.
This is the best coffee on either side of missionary ridge. Yes, their Roastery and drive thru pickup is on Dodson near Tunnel
I almost forgot to mention the Dark Night flavor notes. Especially the middle one on the list. It's really true, I can feel them as soon as I take my first sip... And this is not Fake News, it's simply that MSNBC hasn't discovered Dark Night but don't tell them because we want Mad Priest for ourselves here in...
