Went to this location about 10 months ago. I went to get a 3in catback exhaust done and asked for my clamp setup to be intact so I could install the new downpipe and catalytic converter with the same setup. I was told "that's no problem". But much to my dismay that wasn't the case.. I was charged $560 for them to not install stainless steel. They shoved the original pipe into the new pipe and welded it to my stock cat when I asked them not to. They installed a flowmaster muffler that was meant for a v6/v8 and I have a 4 cylinder turbo. I also asked that the muffler be as high flow as possible and they installed one that had a lot of restriction.. the y pipe hung too low and hit everything which cracked it.. overall my experience with them was terrible. I called to get it replaced and/or refund and I was told nothing they can do.. so I had to go get everything redone at a different shop due to the poor service I recieved at this location. Really stinks that I had to throw away over $500 and pay another shop to fix...
Read moreCame to Lou's in Chelsmford, on the recommendation of my neighbor, because my SUV was making a loud noise in the exhaust and it sounded louder than a truck at monster jam! I called first to get a price point because I figured it was either my exhaust and/or flex pipe. I spoke with John and he told me that Lou's offers a free diagnostic with no obligation so I made an appointment for the next day. My family and I arrived here at our appointment time and they took us in almost immediately. They were able to determine the issues (flex pipe and converter) and even show us exactly via diagram and then on the SUV itself so we would completely understand the issues that needed to be addressed. We were given an reasonable price point and told the work could be completed fairly quickly, at our convenience. Would definitely...
Read moreI do NOT recommend these guys. I took my 2005 mustang V6 to them in April 2016 to remove the dead single exhaust and convert it to dual exhaust. I didn't catch it until too late - they did not clean the surface rust off the old exhaust pipes prior to welding the new pipes. Once I realized it and called them on it, they offered to put a 2nd bead on, which I refused. Why make the same mistake twice?? So now, just 3 1/2 years later, I have a giant crack down the center of the weld. See the pic. I'll now have to pay someone else to cut out the sections of pipes and weld in new ones CORRECTLY. I'll go to a bonafide welding shop for that! Also, they skimped on the muffler hangers so they rattle when...
